“True to its tight-lipped style, Apple isn’t spelling out how actively involved Jobs will be as the company’s new chairman while he tends to his own fragile health after surviving pancreatic cancer and a liver transplant during the past seven years,” Liedtke and Metz report. “But longtime Apple watchers have no doubt that Jobs will weigh in on all key decisions and help sculpt the company’s future product line-up.”

Liedtke and Metz report, “‘I know enough about Steve Jobs to know that as long as he has a breath in him, he will be giving direction at Apple,’ said Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies and the dean of Apple analysts. ‘He is going to remain Apple’s chief visionary.'”

That’s exactly what he should be doing. Leave the day-to-day stuff to other people. Steve needs to focus his energies on innovating, not managing. It’s a perfect move.
I agree … and am hoping the “big picture ideas” will include redefining the TV and set top box ecosystem — within his lifetime.
The only reason he won’t be involved in any of this if he himself chooses not to be. We hope that will not be the case.

You are all fools, can’t you see his days are numbered??? He will have no role in anything any longer, these are his final days if not weeks. Have you fools not seen pictures of Jobs recently??? Humans do not recover from these illnesses, he weighs all of 80lbs, you don’t recover from that. I’m as sick to my stomach over this as anyone and probably more, but one must be realistic. I don’t need to be a doctor nor do I need to read about his current medical condition to know what’s going on, it’s glaringly obvious where the story ends, it’s just a matter of when. I’ve seen this exact story play out in my own personal life with friends and family, it’s not good. Kudos to those who remain optimistic, I’m just not seeing it. Prepare for the news, it’s coming soon. God be with you Steve, I wish I could have met you in life.
