“It’s that time again! Right on schedule (with ‘on schedule’ meaning ‘roughly 2 weeks since the last one’), Apple has just released the sixth Beta build of iOS 5 to developers,” Greg Kumparak reports for TechCrunch.
“Though most are just crackin’ into beta 6 right this second, we’re not hearing much in terms of new stuff here — it’s mostly bug fixes and itty bitty spots of polish at this point,” Kumparak reports. “Which, of course, makes sense: Apple’s presumably nearing the end of the Beta phase here, so it’s less about adding new stuff and more about making sure everything that’s in there works as expected.”

Slash Lane reports for AppleInsider, “Apple on Friday provided members of its developer community with the sixth external beta of its forthcoming iOS 5.0 operating system alongside new betas of iTunes 10.5 and Apple TV software that will include support for the new software.”
“More specifically, Apple issued iOS 5 beta 6 build 9A5302b, iTunes 10.5 beta 6, Apple TV Software beta 5, iWork for iOS beta 2, and Xcode 4.2 and iOS 5 SDK beta 6,” Lane reports.

Gamma time!
Why are they seeding iTunes 10 Betas if iTunes 11 is due in September/October? Doesn’t iTunes upgrade to the next number around the time of the iPod announcement?
Because 11 is a major overhaul, 10.5 adds Full support for iOS 5, icloud, etc. 11 will be radically different, all new interface.
Talking about iWork, can’t wait for the next overhaul for the Mac platform… it’s been a while!
I am holding off purchasing iWork for Mac until the new one…
I have “a Copy” I use… I’ll buy the new one, but i KNOW the day after I purchase ’08, they will release a new version, and you will not be able to update it through Mac App Store..
Granted I bet it”s safe to buy off the App store now, and get the new version.. Apple isn’t that stupid. But with my luck.. They will have Pages ’08 and Pages ’11/12 as two separate apps just to spite me.
