USA Today’s Baig reviews Mac OS X Lion: ‘Truly worth lionizing’

“Apple’s storied reputation was built on computers, and sales for the Macintosh have been strong. While the rest of the PC industry has been eaten alive — those tablets are preying on traditional computers — Mac sales continue to climb,” Edward C . Baig reports for USA Today.

“Today, Apple hopes to continue that roaring pace by trotting out OS X Lion, the eighth major release (in 10 years) of the Mac’s OS X operating system,” Baig reports. “This latest feline is a beautiful finger-friendly operating system that is, pardon the pun, truly worth lionizing.”

Baig reports, “With 250-plus new features, there’s a lot here, from handy reading lists in the Safari Web browser to clever special effects in Photo Booth. Macs with Lion boot up to where you were before. Apple has bolstered OS X’s built-in Mail program, added an AirDrop feature that lets you wirelessly share files hassle-free between Macs in close proximity, and made an always-pleasant computing environment even more so.”

I guess he’s using the meaning to mean ‘celebrate’ Lion – it being great n’ all. Doesn’t quite work though since it’s usually used referring to a person. You could say ‘Tiger was lionised as a golfing king’ – until he wasn’t that is.
