      1. I have only had a problem with my iMac for a month…
Which I can say, as far as I can tell… It’s fixed now. The discussion boards seem to concur. All of us WiFi sufferers are crossing fingers now.

  1. BEWARE?

I just installed 10.6.8. Now my screen has dark banding starting from the bottom of the screen. Overall the screen’s maximum brightness had been reduced.

Also, webpages seem to load more slowly.

  2. Updated an hour ago, seems to work just fine. I always worry about my Vectorworks CAD program and upgrade to only one mac and check that it is compatible. Again with this update no problem there, nor anywhere I have found so far.

  3. I read similar comments quite frequently (Download the “combo”). I’ve been using my white Macbook, that came with Tiger, for over 4 years. I have used the software update for every Tiger, Leopard and now Snow Leopard update without issue. What am I missing?

    1. Downloading the Combo is a recommended maintenance tool- I’ve more than once relied upon a Combo install to ‘recondition’ a Mac. It’s a much faster step than trying to troubleshoot what damn little file somewhere is bunging things up. But I usually update from Software Update, and have never had a problem, even running a lab of iMacs.
