    1. The question you should be asking is this: Why am I still loading banners and ads in 2011. Both firefox and Safari have extensions to block them. (and your pages load faster)

      1. Shame on all you adblocking-ites. How do you think MDN supports this site??? That’s right — with revenue it generates from ads. Instead of blocking ad, you should be clicking them. Seriously, my MDN brethren, how do you think MDN can afford to build out a new web site and create new iOS apps? I own a web development firm in the midwest, so I know what it costs, and it isn’t cheap. We need to support MDN in anyway that we can, even if that means suffering through ads. I rather like the Juicy Couture ads myself 😉

        And through this thread, MDN refrained from making a pitch about not using adblockers. How classy. So I’m standing up for them, and I hope you do, too.

        1. …But I should add that MDN has employed frustratingly intrusive ad serving methods in the past. I have myself clicked on ads applicable to something I needed, but only the non-intrusive variety.
