“Further, Scruffy advises that because the Rosetta PowerPC emulation layer, which translates G3, G4 and Altivec instructions, is also going away, you won’t be able to use legacy versions of many apps, such as Photoshop CS 4 and Microsoft Office 2004, a double whammy,” FairerPlatform reports.
“Wikipedia’s saying that any Intel Core 2 Duo Mac is OS X Lion compatible,” FairerPlatform reports. “However, if you try to install Lion on a Core Solo or Core Duo Mac, it won’t let you perform the installation, a roadblock that’s probably easy to get around.”

If I buy a new mac and FCP 7/Suite3 now (may1) and then they release FCPX and I upgrade to Lion and FCPX, will FCP Suite 3 even run on Lion? Or will I have to repurchase the entire suite?
Also, will CS 5.5 run on Lion?

Per the specs listed in the article, CS 5.5 will run on Lion. CS 3 will run on Lion since it is an Universal App.
To me, it doesn’t look like Apple has included and additional functionality except for quicktime. Apple still doesn’t have a calendar function in it’s e-mail… That doesn’t require Lion. This is one that seems worth skipping.
I’m saving up for an iMac.. since i don’t have one… My windows PC is playing up.. Had to put linux on my antique.. (ie windows XP) Hope i get the money to get my brand new computer:D
I have a g5 power pc, 20 inch screen model.. Brought second hand off user, with only osx tiger on it..my questiuon is, can it be updated? I cant seem to use anything on it, i need to install flash player and wont, wont play audio or video, without updates i think its useless to me me…have i brought a lemon?
Can lion run on a G5 processor or just leopard and snow leopard???
