“According to Korean site ETNews.co.kr, Apple is planning on releasing the iPhone 5 during the 4th week of June,” Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors.
“ETNews claims that the news of a late June iPhone 5 release comes with confirmation that Korean providers SK Telecom and KT will be amongst the first carriers to offer the new iPhone,” Kim reports. “‘iPhone 5, the next model of [iPhone], will be released on the coming 4th week of June In the midst of the iPhone 5 postponement rumors, Apple has confirmed that iPhone 5 will be released as planned and it will be released simultaneously in Korea through SK Telecom and KT.'”
Kim reports, “Instead of a WWDC launch, Apple is expected to hold a special media event featuring Steve Jobs himself.”

Only goes to show, no one really knows what Apple will do. Hope this rumor is true, tho.
It’s instructive to remember there were rumors out a couple of months ago stating iPad 2 wouldn’t arrive until summer.
mine probably wouldn’t arrive until summer.
My only hope is that iphone 5 support 4g conectivity
I hope it does NOT have 4G, or if it does, you can disable it/turn it on and off on the fly.
Been reading reviews from some of the first 4G phones. The same phone on 3G lasted a day and half on battery — with 4G, it only lasted 4-5 hours!! Unacceptable…
Then i hope apple make a good battery life i know they can. And disable it would be a good choice.
RUMOR: Any news that starts with RUMOR is completely pulled out of someones ass until the TRUE news comes from Apple themselves……..if it starts with RUMOR scroll on to the next news story.
I agree. Enough BS out there- don’t have time for “RUMORS.”
The release of the Verizon iPhone 4 earlier this year does not mean that an iPhone 5 will not be released in 2011. In fact, a June release sounds reasonable. If it happens, you will hear plenty of squawking from early adopters of the Verizon iPhone 4. But that is one of the consequences of rapid product development – do we really want to go back to the old days of stretched product release cycles?
Well, I’m one of those Verizon early adopters, and I’m well aware of how to tell if an electronics item is obsolete.
If you can buy it, it is.
So bring on the iPhone 5. I’ll get it, my wife will get the iPhone 4, and one of the kids will get her iPod touch.
I was more interested in the part of the rumour that said Steve himself may present it.
That to me is more exciting that the phone itself.
That man just can’t take a rest.
Glad he feels good enough to keep doing all this. Stay well Steve, take care of yourself!
My sources at Daring Fireball say their sources at The L∞p say their sources at Apple says there won’t be an iPhone 5 in June.
