“Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs surprised a crowd of fans by taking the stage Wednesday to unveil the next version of his company’s iPad tablet,” Ian Sherr reports for The Wall Street Journal.
“Mr. Jobs’s surprise appearance was greeted by a standing ovation by the crowd in San Francisco,” Sherr reports. “The executive, who took a medical leave earlier this year, joked with the audience, saying he ‘didn’t want to miss today.’ Mr. Jobs, a cancer survivor and transplant recipient, appeared energetic though thin as he took the stage at the invitation-only event.”
Sherr reports, “Mr. Jobs said the iPad 2, which has a dual-core microprocessor and two video cameras, is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The new version will start at $499, which is the same price as the original model. It will be available in black and white colors and offered by both AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless. Mr. Jobs said it will begin shipping on March 11 in the U.S. and in more than two dozen other countries on March 25.”

Keep Up the Great Work Steve and Team!! Get better soon!! Sending love and best wishes!!
It would’ve been so pleasant to watch that live during the Apple live stream. What the hell happened? You can’t offer it to us and then take it away. I’ve been watching these events live the past couple times and now I have to go back to reading these stupid blog updates again?
I’m an American, damnit. I demand utmost convenience. Damn you Apple for inconveniencing me this afternoon.

“I’m an American, damnit.”
now i understand you…
Delayed so apple can get kickbacks from the tech reporters for the “exclusive”. If we all watched it live we woundnt need to go to these sites and get ads shoved in our sockets. Let’s all not lose focus on the fact apple is a business not your buddy.
Maybe Mr.Jobs, should sort of the amount of Memory for g4, g5 first before releasing any more Rubbish. Like Mac-Tel Macs that just get worse…
