“With inventory of its existing MacBook Pro notebooks becoming increasingly constrained with each passing day, Apple may be evaluating the possibility of launching revised models before month’s end,” Kasper Jade and Neil Hughes report for AppleInsider.
“People familiar with the matter say the Cupertino-based company late this week began briefing several of its operating segments to be on stand-by for a significant product launch that could come as early as next week,” Jade and Hughes report. “Those same people were not yet made privy to the specifics of the launch, however, which had earlier been anticipated for the following week.”
Jade and Hughes report, “The briefings appear to coincide with an impending launch of the company’s next-generation MacBook Pros.”

“Apple may be evaluating”, say Kasper and Neil. And they may be evaluating having you two shot for empty journalism.
“But, but, but … it’s not empty! We had lots of words in it! Oh, you wanted content, too? Do we get extra-credit for that?””
If Apple shot everyone who wrote about them on the basis of “empty journalism”, this site wouldn’t exist.
Nice….
Not a product launch; a product refresh. A launch would involve press invitations, which usually go out weeks in advance. A refresh requires a temporary take-down of the online store and a press release.
I don’t know… I considered the release of the new MacBook Air to be a “major product launch.” If the MacBook Pro line is similarly enhanced, I think it would be more than an “refresh,” in terms of marketing opportunity for Apple.
If…
Both the original launch of the MacBook Air as well as the 3rd generation launch (the second generation was a spec bump) were both revealed at public addresses
3rd gen air was a nice update, but still definitely a “refreshed” version of the original. A new product launch is exactly that…. a new product.
The wording is “major” and “significant” product launch, NOT “new” product launch.
Unnamed MacDailyNews readers may be evaluating whether or not to provide feedback on this article. People familiar with empty journalism have indicated that it will neither hurt nor help, except perhaps to provide levity in the absence of content.
it will be a boat
really? I aver this is just another wagon of air set on the rolls of PR
Seriously, how many ways can you repackage the same rumor?
But is it imminent?
And snappy?
a friend of mine does construction work at apple stores whenever something new is going to be displayed. They work overnight with no employees present, just security guards watching them. he just got notified with less than 24 hrs notice to do work this weekend in some stores. could be for some new products and their displays
Appreciate the info. Thanks. Keep it up, please!
Odds are mbp.
I just want a “one more thing” at the end 😉
And it be the specs for the iPad 2, and the pre order date!
AGREED! I’ve been waiting for a camera equipped iPad since the doggone thing was introduced!
Apple don’t evaluate the possibility of launching a new product or even a refresh. They have a clear idea when they will do this and plan well ahead. Remember they have to have inventory since their stuff is selling like hotcakes.
Will you please get rid of these stupid-assed Java Script warnings when visiting on an iPhone (with script OFF for a reason)
@doggonetoo
Pizactly!
