9 to 5 Mac’s Seth Weintraub writes, “We’re not saying these are the new MacBook Pros, we’re just saying we like this design. Intel would never leak an upcoming MacBook Pro in their advertising anyway.”

[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Judge Bork” for the heads up.]

Looks like an Apple design to me. It is amazing how hard it is to keep a secret in the tech industry…
Doubt it.
Doubt they’d get rid of the aluminum design. While slick, this looks like plastic. Maybe new MacBooks (non-Pro) though? Screen looks a little big, but who knows?
Carbon fiber? Liquid Metal?
Liquid Metal!
Ok. It certainly looks like it could be a future MacBook Pro of some kind. The aqua-like controls also point in that direction. That said, with Apple’s new “slow” schedule of released (yearly, it seems), I’m quite content with my still-new MBP 15″ Core i7. 😀

looks like any generic laptop. without seeing the keyboard, this is nothing more than wishful thinking….
In every lie, there is a pinch of truth.
I bet its a proto of the new 15″ Macbook 3G/4G powered by Lion using new iMovie / Final Cut Express hybrid
it doesn’t even look real it just a photoshop mock up!
Agreed. This is a front orthographic view which was most likely completely generated in Photoshop, and easily so at that. Notice the rounded corners of the moniter- not quite as round as the ones shown at apple.com. Those look like Photoshop corners.

Come on people, Carbon Fibre!
Could it be carbon fiber?
Could be carbon fiber. Could be black anodized aluminum. Could be black pixels in a computer generated image.
The thinness of the lower section certainly looks Apple-like. The graphic could be a full screen app view in Lion. Or the whole thing could be not Scottish.
Suffice it to say that the next generation Macbook Pros will be incredible devices – both in terms of performance and aesthetics. The current generation certainly is.
Love the Scottish reference… I get it 🙂
If it’s carbon based is it really human?
Mmh! And the webcam? Is it right behind the top black screen frame?
There was that technology that was written about a while back where the camera is the whole screen, and it looks between the display pixels.
No, this is just a mockup..
But…everyone is ignoring something distinctly Apple.
The Sleep light in the far right of the base unit in front of the keyboard is plainly visible. Apple all the way.
Still happy with my 15″ i7, particularly with SSD…fast.
It is Liquid Metal. Apple owns the technology.

Look how thin it is… only apple could do that. Either that or it is a mock up as somebody suggested. I suspect it is the real thing.
No way. Apple keeps the artwork of any unreleased products on a strictly need-to-know basis, and nobody in Intel marketing would qualify.

oh no they di int! (hehe)
If it is an Apple, where is the camera?
FAKE – notice reflection of horizontally possitioned intel chip under that fake MacBook? Just look on the floor again 😉
Just an eye of designer 🙂 Sorry for disappointment!
That could be anything, including a Photoshop’ed creation. The fact that someone thinks it looks like a future Apple creation just shows how much “mindshare” Apple has in the tech industry.
I really question whether an entire laptop could be that thin. I know the new MBAs are pretty thin at one edge, but they’re a little thicker at another.
My theory: that’s a Macbook, but not a Macbook Pro.
No, they didn’t Seth. Jeeez! Clutching at straws much?
A complete non-story. As for re-posting it MDN? Come on, you’re better than that.
Not Apple’s MacBook Pro. Sorry!
FYI: Apple releases Apple products! Any other release is definitely an unauthorized release. Intel would not do that. End of story!
No.
all news sites and people running them are the same. they are nothing but sheeps and birds. Following everything they can, repeating every little word they hear. so before you know it you have 100’s of sites showing the exact same news, although if you ask similar questions about your phone that may have been posted and answered before people freak out screaming at you to search google before posting. cant help but feel there is a double standard here lol ^_~
