“Apple removed a notorious anthem of the Nazi Party from the German version of its iTunes online music store on Wednesday,” Eric Kelsey reports for Reuters.
“Named after a young party activist killed in 1930, the marching song ‘Horst Wessel Lied,’ was the unofficial anthem of the Nazis until it was banned in Germany at the end of World War Two,” Kelsey reports. “The Apple spokesman said it had been taken off iTunes but did not say if other Nazi-era songs had also been removed.”

I have always thought of the “political spectrum” as somewhat circular; those who get too far to either the right or left become indistinguishable. MAD Magazine had a wonderful treatment of this several decades back.
@GeeOne- your simple generalization of american conservatives shows your total ignorance of american politics. I do not know if you are an american but to compare to Glenn Beck to Adolf Hitler shows how small your thinking is. Show me a direct quote from Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh that evens comes close to what Adolf Hitler, Joesph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Hideki Tojo was giving speeches about and writing. You are a typical leftist that can not back up what you are talking about.
@MacFinder- other than the color of the armband, and uniform, both systems are totalitarian, they both expouse the control by a few elites (who know better than the masses, both ban trade unions, both restrict freedoms, etc. Show me the differences
@Helge- I think Mr. Tuttle never said that the Nazis got their votes from the just the left. Are you asinine? Of course the majority of the Germans voted for who they thought was going to get them out of their economic mess. Many people were desperate enough to vote for the man that brought them order to this chaotic time in Germany.
My question is : If Nazis are right wing, why did they not ask the Kaiser Wilhelm ,that fled Germany after World War 1, to return back to power. Since by definition right wingers are conservative, they would be asking the Kaiser to be back in power. Why were the Prussian officer class of the German Army hated Hitler since if Hitler was a fellow right winger, he would have been welcome in open arms by the so called rightwing/conservatives.
