  1. Keynote has so much potential, yet Apple doesn’t deliver. The basic workflow is still utterly clumsy (still no way to quickly zoom in/out or define/edit shortcuts…WTF?!). Hell, there still isn’t even support for working with layers. Keynote deserves at least the basic toolset of a layout app.

Adding to all this, the iPad/iOS version of keynote, although a great first step, is rather obsolete as long as one can’t import fonts.

    Fonts schmonts.

I use the iPad version all the time and have never been in need of a font that wasn’t already there.

Let your content do the talking. Don’t rely so much on every single font (and transition). Too many people rely on fancy fonts, animations and transitions and that drowns out the message.

  3. @Dana – there still isn’t even support for working with layers.

Agreed. Hopefully this feature shows up in the next Keynote version. Specifically, there ought to be an Expose like feature that shows all component parts of any Keynote Plate with easy selection.

Also, perhaps in the next Keynote version multiple songs in one presentation will be an option.

    Oh…don’t get me started about Quicktime exports…. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
