I read the article from Gartenberg and he is 125% correct. I believe that Apple is waiting to see how this new Apple TV does. So far it is doing good. They are approaching the 1 million units sold. I feel that they will come out with a ATV app store. They have done this in the past with the iPhone. They showed us a new way to use a phone. Then came the app store. Now they are showing us a new way on how to use a connected TV. The apps will follow. I would not be surprised if there are iOS developers out there working on apps for the ATV right now. With the ATV and AirPlay, Apple has a huge chance to change the way we watch content and play games on the TV.
I don’t think that Apple will puts Apps on the AppleTV but rather stream apps from your Mac (or the cloud). They will cache locally but be removed once the game is over. It might be a problem with large games but 8gig of storage is probably not enough for all the games that you would want.
