RUMOR: New images of 4G iPod touch LCD with FaceTime camera leak

An iPhone parts supplier sent MacRumors “photos of what are claimed to be the front LCD and bezel of the upcoming 4th generation iPod touch,” Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors.

“The new part clearly shows a front-sided hole that would leave room for a front-facing FaceTime camera,” Kim reports.

“This part is clearly marked as an Apple part ‘Apple (c) 2010,” Kim reports. “This stamp is visible in the full resolution image. The part is also stamped with April 29, 2010, indicating that the build date is relatively recent.”

  1. SJ did say at the WWDC they would be shipping millions of Face Time enable devices this year. Not iPhones, “devices”.

I would not be surprised if we see new iPads with front facing cameras this year too.

  2. I doubt 128 GB will come. iPhone didn’t move up to 64 GB.

    Although not a direct comparison.

NAND prices must be high or can’t be supplied in enough quantity in the physical dimensions and GB sizes that Apple needs.

    I could be wrong though.

With so many Apps being made to run on the touch, iPhone AND iPad, they are growing in size. Even a 32 GB iPhone seems very small.

Asphalt 500 MB all by itself, and that’s ONE racing program.

So, I do hope 128 hits the streets. I just wished 64 had hit the iPhone 4.

  3. @GregoriusM,
I agree. The lack of a 64 GB version of the iPhone 4 was the only drawback that I saw when it was released. Antenna-gate was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Who cares if your signal attenuates if the call isn’t dropped?

  4. Mr Kim, if ever someone were to send me your bank account number along with your PIN number I wouldn’t hesitate to publish it either. One Engagdet is enough. So called ‘journalists’ now lack any integrity to be credible. Why don’t you be the first to start by not publishing it next time and return the goodies quietly. That goes for everyone else.
