Boy Genius has some independently confirmed iPhone reservation numbers to share:
• A “large” New York Apple store had over 2,200 iPhone reservations
• A “medium” sized Boston Apple store had over 800 reservations
• One store in California had over 1,000 reservations, and another in California had over 1,400
• A “small” Texas Apple store had over 900
• Note that these don’t include preorders, walk-in sales on launch day, or any white iPhones. So, it’s in addition to Apple’s 600,000 number.

MacDailyNews Take: The Greg Packer watch begins in earnest.
Ah, the memories of June 2007:
One will be waiting for me at the “large” Apple Store La Cantera in San Antonio.
Who saves that guy’s spot when he needs to take a dump? Or is that why his name is “Packer”?
Can’t wait to paint mine brown to match the muck in my wallow.
On iP4 Day, I shall be sitting on my fat lazy butt in front of my computer, at home, reloading the UPS tracking every five minutes ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
I did the line thing for the original iPhone three years ago. It was a lot of fun, but now that I’ve done it I’ll take the UPS option.
You what could really boost iPhones sales? a little plastic keyboard
(sarcasm)
Gotta love that fella 😀
I thought Apple exclusively shipped with FedEx?
i’ll be camping out at the Houston Galleria for a (hopefully) white iphone. this is my first chance to camp out for one!
Greg Packer has nothing on us University of Kentucky fans! Before UK changed how they distributed the tickets for Midnight Madness (and, they were the ones who invented Midnight Madness), people would camp out for a full month in front of Memorial Coliseum. Yes, a month.
Yet Microsuck wants to open their copy cat store on the same day as iPhone 4 day. Freaking STUPID! Ahahahahahaha
@Spark,
You had me rolling with that one!
All SEC fans know that UK fans take BB SERIOUSLY.
@Mac Daddy: You better change your plan to track your package with the FedEx App. Apple doesn’t ship anything via UPS.
I’ll be camping at the University Av Palo Alto Store beginning Tuesday morning for a WHITE 32 Thursday morning. There is no information that says there won’t be any WHITE iPhone 4s for walk-ins on launch day. So I’m going to risk it.
ok so i have a reservation confirmation from my local store for pick up on 6/24 at 7am. do i need overnight, or is there a reservation line vs. walk-in line?
@bananamonkey
In the past, there have essentially been one long line combining both pre-orders and those just waiting. However, once they start letting people in, they switch to two lines, those that are pre-order, and the others hoping to be early enough in line to get one of the precious few that are in store for walk-ins.
Utah is now in the Pac-10. Little else matters to me. I think I followed more blogs about that than the iPhone for the first time ever.
And I hate UK for beating both of my colleges in the final four over the past 20 years. Meh.
Oh, right, we’re talking about iPhone 4. Mine’s ordered, for delivery on 7/6. I’ll be eBaying iPhone 3GS on 7/6.
Top of the queue for a WHITE 32 in front of the Palo Alto Store next Tuesday.
@ Jubei

Actually, I think Apple announced the iPhone 4 launch day AFTER Microsoft had committed to when the new stores would be open. I don’t think Apple really cared enough to notice, but if they did, they could not have picked a better day to mess with Microsoft. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
Google Alfred Packer.
does it come with a stylus? I need a stylus! someone get me a stylus!
If I was his dad, I would have named Greg “Fudge.” You know that was his nickname in middle school and high school.
