Apple’s iPhone 3G disappears from carriers’ websites

invisibleSHIELD case for iPad“Suspicions that the iPhone 3G is not long for this world would appear to be founded – if UK carriers’ websites are anything to go by,” Register Hardware reports.

“O2, for example, isn’t offering the 3G as an option at all,” Register Hardware reports. “Orange does list the 3G, but if you attempt to order one you’ll be told it’s out of stock. Carphone Warehouse similarly lists the 3G as a possible iPhone choice, but, when pushed, admits it hasn’t got any.”

  1. Oh no!
    the iPhone is no more!!
quick, buy all the iPhones you can lay your hands on because the iPhone killers have at last succeeded in killing it!!! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  2. You can look for this kind of story in the not-to-distant future when Apple begins to drop Macs from their product line up.

From here on it’s all-iPad-all-the-time! Sorry ’bout that for all you creators of things that require a computer. Apple, according to CEO Steve Jobs, is a “mobile device company” now.

  3. Wow, this is such a major shock… I mean, who would have expected that, two weeks before the expected announcement of a new device, they would have quietly discontinued almost two-years-old model….?

  4. @Original Jake

I’m not a troll. If you have any evidence – any at all – that I’m wrong, please post it. Because I’m in deep depression about the demise of the Mac in exchange for a completely crippled gadget with which I can do little more than email and surfin’. I have absolutely zero interest in games and totally unimpressed with the functionality of things like iWork and soon-to-come iLife – more completely crippled apps that do nothing I need.

  5. @ Expectations,

Apple Mac sales are climbing every month.
Work is going forward on Mac OS 7.0.
New Mac models are being released.
Windows PCs still suck the big one.

If you need more you are a fat-assed troll.
