Apple today released iPhoto 8.1.2 which addresses minor issues in the area of import and syncing to iPhone, iPod or Apple TV, specifically:
Import:
• Resolves an issue that could sometimes cause iPhoto to quit unexpectedly when connecting an iPhone 3GS.
• Resolves an issue that prevented an Event thumbnail from being created when an import included only video clips.
iPod nano Support:
• Displays the iPod icon for iPod Nano (5th Generation) correctly in the Source list.
Syncing:
• Resolves an issue that prevented syncing photos to iPhone, iPod, or AppleTV if a slideshow in the library used a song containing an ampersand (&) in the filename.
iPad Compatibility:
• Enables support for importing photos from iPad to your iPhoto library, as well as syncing photos to iPad.
The update is recommended for all users of iPhoto ’09.
iPhoto 8.1.2 is available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.

how about letting us turn off the auto loading of iPhoto?
@hmmm
Doesn’t “auto load” for me (when sync’ing an iPhone): I have to manually open iPhoto for images to transfer from the phone to iPhoto.
Or maybe that’s not what you were referring to..
(I set “Connecting camera opens:” to ‘No application’ in iPhoto’s Preferences.)
@hmmm
Assume you want to stop your iPhone launching iPhoto? If you’re running Leopard, attach your iPhone, launch Image Capture from your applications folder and set ‘Connecting this iPhone opens: No application” at the bottom left corner. Easy when you know how, but a hidden feature.
How about getting it to let me sync the single photo I want on my iPhone? It keeps telling me that photos can’t be synced because there’s not enough room for my albums and libraries when I’ve got 160MB of space!
Itunes is getting crusty around the edges and needs a round of serious rebuilding, fat cutting, and optimization.
I think of it as a “Snow Job”, after our latest leopard.
