“Apple is throwing a glamorous Tablet party and chip partner Intel isn’t invited,” Scott Moritz reports for TheStreet.com.
“With production time of its Tablet approaching, Apple has been making its final decisions on which components will go into the device, which is due out in March,” Moritz reports. “Unfortunately for Intel, it didn’t make the cut, says Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar, based on conversations with Apple’s design manufacturing partners.”
Moritz reports, “There has been speculation that Intel’s new generation of Atom chips was in the running for the slot, but Apple ultimately chose a processor developed by P A Semi, a chip shop Apple acquired two years ago, according to another analyst familiar with the so-called build plan.”
Moritz reports, “If you believe that the closely-watched Apple Tablet will reshape the mobile computing landscape, then the snub deals Intel a significant defeat.”

the picture in the original article predates the iPhone announcement, I’d say.
Worthless “news”.
Even Intel admitted that the Atom had lousy power management.
Keep in mind that the iPhone re-invented the landscape, overnight. It was far, far more than the “sum of its parts”.
So Apple, with this new invention, will also be showing people something they THINK they’ve seen before, so though they are calling it, “Apple’s Tablet,” in reality the word, ‘tablet’ doesn’t begin to describe it accurately, any more than the word, ‘planet’ can describe the planet-moon ‘Pandora’ where the movie Avatar takes place…
It’s going to be a whole new landscape, a whole new world of possibilities and Apple, as usual, plants the flag and points the way.
Geeze I hope Apple are actually releasing a tablet after all this hopla. Otherwise they’re gonna look silly.
Scott Morritz calle Apple’s product to be, the “iFlop”. He constantly gets Apple wrong constantly. He also said the iphone had peeked back in October.
Seeing as the Intel Atom processor is a POS designed for a POS called the ‘netbook’, why would Apple even give it a glance?
