“One of our very connected sources let us know that they’ve heard very solid information about Apple’s upcoming tablet,” The Boy Genius Report reports.
“It has been widely reported recently that the size of the tablet is 10″, but there was also talk about a 7″ model,” TBGR reports.
“Our connect said there is 100% a 7″ Apple tablet, to be announced in January, and whether this is in addition to a 10″ model, they don’t know,” TBGR reports.

OK, a 7″ model will fit in a suit-coat pocket.
Very nice!! Can it play iPhone’s game? Just my thought. ^_~
Just a bigger iPod touch with a little more real estate.
1 word: iBook
Opps, they missed Christmas sales.
@geo
Just another wannabe guesser thinking you know more than the rest of us. (Your cynicism and done-it-all positing really stink, BTW.)
Imagine of A5-size paper, it is 10″ screen.
Then fold it by half, then you get 7″ screen.
Both of them are possible. 10″ is perfect for reading. Hardly think of what can we do with 7″. it is too big to be inthe pocket and too small for reading.
Reading website on iPhone is painful already.
I love the BGR, generally I get -20+ dislikes per post. Those silly Droid users. Any hoot, sitting on the toilet last night playing blackjack on this here iPhone I couldn’t help but notice how big my hands would have to be to type easily on a 10 inch tablet. (Hell I already know the difficulty of handling 10 inches…ladies….) but seriously, not that I am not, 7 inches is about as comfortable as a handheld could probably get. I am sure in a year you won’t see too many large tablets.
@Charlie,
This Christmas is about the iMac.
The tablet will be launched in 2010.
It will gain traction througout the year.
Then it will go through the roof next Christmas.
my ipod touch has gone kaput and i always wanted it to be slightly bigger anyway
suits me fine
Broker 1: “Time to make some more money off Apple”
Broker 2: “We’ll get someone to blog about the Apple Tablet coming out”
Broker 3: “I’ll get someone to confirm it”
Broker 1: “OK, let’s buy some stock whilst it is still low”
Broker 3: “Sounds good let’s sell after the stock reaches $210”
Broker 2: “Then we’ll start a rumor about Job’s health. We haven’t done that one in a while.”
Broker 1: “Do you think the SEC will ever catch on to this? This is the easiest way ever to make money”
Broker 2: “No kidding. Anyway someone’s already paid off the SEC to look the other way so we’re in the clear”
Lol, for once I hope Apple restricts choice to one model because I’d be too indecisive. Do I go with 7 for added portability or 10 for that big, comfortable screen?
I sort of feel like 7″ is the sweet spot, the perfect compromise. I watch videos just fine on my iPhone so 7 shouldn’t be a problem.
Steve will probably decide that we only need the 7″ model.

How is 7″ too small? The Kindle is great for reading with a 6″ screen.
The Kindle screen is roughly the same size as the pages in a standard size paperback.
@Doggone… Just my thought! Milk that cow while it last… Before years end they all will go short to fill up their lost socks…
Apple’s screen resolution and propriety technology will be the kicker
iNewton
Does make sense to have both I suppose. The 10in might be more reliant on the new proposed services than a 7in would be so maybe that one will come sooner than the latter. We shall see
OMG I need an Apple Tablet right freaking now!!!!
The guy is so connected that he knows definitively that there is a 7″ screen, yet he is not sure if a 10″ exists?
The noise from my BS detector is starting to hurt my ears.
Does this guy specialize in 7″ screen form factors?
Why not 7 and 11?….
A 5″ screen is twice as large as the current iPhone or touch. A 7″ screen would be three times as large, plenty large for book reading, websurfing, movie watching, etc.
Bullcrap, I have it from one of my very connected sources that the tablet is not 7 or 10″ but rather 8.64″.
And that each iTablet comes with a free copy of the film, ‘Dirty Rotten Liars’.
What makes it different from a modern tablet PC? ABSOLUTE NOTHING
“What makes it different from a modern tablet PC? ABSOLUTE NOTHING”
What makes it different is that SJ will make sure it doesn’t suck.
Geez, I have said I would not buy an iTablet. Now, I am already wanting to buy it before seeing the first real spec on one. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
