So-called ‘leaked’ screenshots of Nike+iPhone app not authentic

“A series of images making the rounds on the Internet this week as ‘leaked’ screenshots of an upcoming Nike+ application for the iPhone and iPod touch are not authentic,” AppleInsider reports.

“The application depicted in the shots, which shows off touch-based interface for managing runs and workouts tied to Nike’s $30 Nike+iPod Sport Kit, is neither the work of Apple nor the athletic shoe maker, several people familiar with Nike+ initiative say,” AppleInsider reports.

“While Apple and Nike are indeed working to bring the Nike+ experience to Apple’s touch-based handhelds sometime in the future, it may be some time before that application sees the light of day,” AppleInsider reports.

  1. Just a quick note – with Nike headquarters in Beaverton Oregon (and Nike’s EMEA headquarters in Hilversum Netherlands) and Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, it’s very very unlikely that the alpha and beta versions of the new Nike+ would be in French.

  2. Hey, I guess if Nike can get the PR benefit of producing a really cool Iphone app by merely leaking fake screenshots of a really cool Iphone app, more power to them. I’m sure they will save a bundle on programming. Now that they’ve seen the reaction, maybe they’ll actually make it.
