Swisscom to launch Apple iPhone in Switzerland ‘later this year’

Echoing the short messages posted on mobile telecom company websites the world over, Swisscom has announced:

Swisscom has signed a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Switzerland later this year.

The iPhone will be available later this year. We will inform you personally as soon as we have more news.

  1. A highly regarded Swiss newspaper wrote that an estimated 40,000 iPhones are already in use in Switzerland. I assume most of them have been imported from the States, the current exchange rate of the US dollar making those phones dramatically cheaper than the ones sold in Germany or the UK.
