AAPL quote via NASDAQ here.
MacDailyNews Note: “I am putting a sell on Apple, the company that created the iPhone,” Laura Goldman, investment advisor, LSG Capital, May 21, 2007. AAPL closed at $111.98 that day.
Woooohooo!
I missed this thread.
funny thing is

hahahahahahahahahahah
“He got me invested in some kind of fruit company. And so then I got a call from him saying we don’t have to worry about money no more.” Forrest Gump
MDN, where do you get your numbers? My quotes say that HP’s market cap closed at $131.4B, and Apple’s closed at $133.2B, so Apple’s ahead.

1. Always listen to Lieutenant Dan.
God bless you all. Each and every one of you—except BustingTheSkullsOfIdiots. He’s gay just like John Wayne.
Oh, and congratulations AAPL on your new all-time high.
It’s good to see the Laura Goldman quote again…
Get your FUD warnings ready for this oh ye blind to anything not flattering about Apple…. But,
One of our IT guys is an Apple developer. His repeated comments are, as of today, that he has never seen any new seed, like the one for Leopard released last Friday, so far from being ready this close to public release. Many, many things left to fix such as getting about half of the iLife suite to actually launch and, when it does, remain stable past a couple of clicks.
Such as all kinds of issues with Safari.
Such as about half of third party apps crashing on launch.
Those kind of problems, and many more, make me worried that Leopard could be the Vista of the Apple world.
If so, what then happens to AAPL?
I doubt he’s gay. He’s not that cool.
@ Prediction
I have used the Leopard seed. Have you?
Did somebody say “high”?

@L
Yeah, he was very clever.
As mommy used to say: “Stupid is as stupid does”.

I’m doing the Walter Houston Dance right now!

“. . . he has never seen any new seed, like the one for Leopard released last Friday, so far from being ready this close to public release.”
WELL, WE ALL HAVE, you dolt. It’s called “Vista”! (And as an Apple developer myself, your IT guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about–just like you.)
Question: Is “Vista” ready for public seed yet?
No Chrissy and Randian, I’ve not used the pre-release Leopard. But, I bet my guy has been at this game longer than either of you.
Just for a moment, really tell us if Leopard is going to be as ready as say, Tiger was when I stood in line to buy it on day one. I’m not trolling for FUD comments and I’m not putting this out for fun.
I’m also not planning on standing in line to get it on day one this time. As a holder of a lot of AAPL I’m just worried.
So, shoot straight. Is it ready or not? It’s no crime to say it’s not and no real loss if Apple delays until it it ready.
The recent announcement about the Apple hardware configuration you need is another sign they are still working on this baby at Cupertino and I don’t want it shoved out prematurely.
“I bet my guy has been at this game longer than either of you.”
I’ll bet he hasn’t been at it longer than I have.
Leopard is still under development. Apple will release it when it’s ready, not before. If they were satisfied with MS’s quality levels, then they could have released the WWDC build from 2006.
“Is it ready or not?”
Of course not. That’s why it hasn’t shipped yet. Duh.
“I don’t want it shoved out prematurely.”
Neither does anyone at Apple. That’s not the way they operate.

We started with two people, one boat and the Apple IIc. I guess you could say I’m Mr. Jobs, and Gump is the WOZ. Anyway, we now employ over 120 people, eleven shrimp boats, 24 iMacs, 17 iPhones, 10 MacBook Pros, and 4 Mac Pros. Thanks, Apple.
@ Prediction
I’ve got a fistful of cash that says your IT guy has NOT been developing software (or just supporting it) longer than my company and I have.
Ask him this: Does he have an original “Fat Mac” sitting on a shelf in his downstairs family room right now? Does he have an original Mac Portable (all 20 lbs. of it) on that same shelf? Did he ship an award-winning program for the Mac in 1988 (a gradebook program for teachers) that still ships today?
Ask him if he’s been buying AAPL since the mid-80’s, sticking with it through thick, thin, Scully, Amelio, the Cube, et al., amassing 5700 shares thereof at an average price of $12.50.
If he (and you) have a better experience–firsthand–with Apple, the Mac, Steve Wozniak, and Steve Jobs than I, I’ll listen to what you two have to say. Otherwise, lead, follow, or get out of the way.
@Midlothian
Vista is indeed seedy enough in public, methinks.
Damn you all, I say!
I did a double-take, because my google financial page shows HP at $131.4B, while Apple is now at $133.2B. Basically at around 1:40pm ET, Apple began its ascent past HP. Apple is now the most valuable personal computer manufacturer in the world, isn’t it? Says alot for that 5% market share.
You’re awesome! Is that shit really true—’cause if it is YOU’RE AWESOME—no, no, you’re better than awesome… YOU’RE THE SHIT!
MDN please give Randian her own space on this site. Daily posts wouldn’t be enough. Twice daily posts, please. You could call it ‘God’s Apple Tidbits’ or ‘I’m Awesome and Here’s Why’. How about ‘Everybody Sucks Except Me’ or ‘Did I Tell You About My Old Macs?’ It would be great.
Just checked your link to the Nasdaq page. It shows, as you note that HP is $133.5B, but HP is a NYSE stock, so perhaps the Nasdaq has it wrong.
I went to the NYSE page, and it has HP’s market cap at $131.4B, just as my Google finance page has it. I would go with the NYSE’s page, seeing as HPQ is a NYSE stock.
So, it’s safe to say that Apple did indeed pass HP today, a historic day, if you ask me, as Apple has become the most valuable pc company of them all! Woohoo!
