I paid the $25 last month to download an advance copy of this version of NeoOffice and have been generally pleased with performance. This is a real alternative to MS Office:Mac, altho you need to adapt yourself to the all-in-one approach to the application (not a big deal). I am also impressed that it has database and drawing modules; the former would be more impressive if it could open an Access db, but its inclusion is still welcome.
Now, if only somebody would create a strong alternative to Entourage — sadly, Apple’s corresponding three apps are weak by comparison. Ideally, the competitive app would import Entourage contacts and calendar, and actively sync with iCal and Address Book for iPhone compatibility.
Looks good, loads much quicker and looks much cleaner. Time will tell with use.

About the only thing I don’t like about NeoOffice (and Open Office in particular), and what keeps me from using it more, is that it loads all the program modules at startup (as mentioned by Ralph M).
I don’t know if it loads everything into memory even if you never use it, but why can’t they make discrete applications like MS Office’s Word, Excel, etc? Is it a workaround to some Java limitation?
