Riveting. Complex. Intriguing. Great character development. Loved the surprise ending!
OK, so here at MDN we have been told what the music is behind the ads “I’m a Mac … andI’m a PC” and iPhone ads.
Anyone know what music is behind this?
I cannot wait until Spring 2007 when Leopard will be ready. Apple never has Microsft type delays, ever.
Just my $0.02
Probably the quality of the video but it looks like crap compared to the others (10.4, 10.3, 10.2, and 10.0/.1). It looks like some bad first-person version of Galaga. However, if you look at the movies for the previous OS X versions, they all have something to do with a major feature in the OS – 10.0/.1 is Aqua; 10.2 is Aqua again; 10.3 I can’t figure out; 10.4 was spotlight; now, it’s Time Machine.
I believe it was the original theme music to the MS BSOD, but the audio never worked once it crashed.
It looks good, very scifi. Apple is not going to devote a huge amount of time to something that lasts 20 seconds and the user sees once.
lol.. pretty damn cool for a movie most users will only see 1x.
Does Leopard has HDTV recording capability ?
Music (from Tiger and Leopard intro movies):
“Bytecry” – Weevil

Nice! I was hoping the U.S.S. Enterprise would perform a fly-by.
The stars seem still far, far away.
It was actually produced by Dr. Zefram Cochrane thirty years ago.
I can crush granite.
Well, if I did it, I’d say “cool!”
But since I don’t do that kind of visual work, and I’m assuming a professional did…well,
Ho-hum.
@ Ray’s Sphincter
Crush a couple of lumps of coal so you can make some diamonds.
I can’t wait to test that, Ray. I’m hard as a rock!
I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I’m going to see it again and again.
@Ray
Do some homework. Apple has had a 4-5 month delay. A “Microsoft type delay” would be like Vista, where the operating system was delayed 2-3 YEARS.
It feels much snappier than the last intro movie.
My first feeling was: oh! this is a fake! Not good enough for Apple…
Now, if it’s the real intro: it’s only used once… so it might be just good enough… Yet i’d be a little disapointed if this would be it…
Damn, as a designer i must say this is some of the most cheesy crap i have seen! Try again Apple…
That’s the Orion Nebula (M42) by the way, so it is astronomical rather than sci-fi.
jesus its naff for pete’s sake! a good amateur effort but lacks the finesse of something pro, also they surely won’t be using the same music?
Sorry i am not convinced this is the real (Bones) McCoy.
Flying though space? Why not just make the text go off into a vanishing point center screen? then pan down to the surface of “Tatooine” or “Hoth” and have Jar Jar welcome you to Mac OS X, then get eaten by a leaopard. Looks like a tacky Windows or linux presentation. If this is real, Apple art directors are slipping. And no new Music? I think its fake.
