Note on site performance

Since very early this morning, our web host has been battling a denial-of-service (DoS) attack of “extreme size.”

Our site is not a target of this DoS. It seems to have been targeted at two unrelated client sites that cover the same topic (nothing to do with Apple).

There is no problem with our dedicated server performance (for once: we do need and are working on more resources as evidenced recently). wink We’re just caught up in the issue along with every other site sharing the same web host.

Our web host has called in extra assistance to pour through information gathered and to keep ahead of any recurrence of the DoS today. Performance should improve sporadically throughout the day.

Please keep in mind that in order to post new articles, we need access to the server, too. At times, it’s almost as frustrating as Windows. We’re doing our best to try to get through to the server to post new articles.

Thank you for your patience.

  1. Right now MDN is working feverishly with their server host, passing tools back and forth. Finally with sweat beading on their brow, the head of technical supports reaches back from underneath the server rack and asks…

    “do you have the wing?”

  2. Believe it or not your server is slow. I appreciate your efforts but it is. Don’t admit it, but don’t say the contrary… Please.

    With respect for your work.

MDN Magic Word: justice… Enough said…

  3. This isn’t a kissing book, is it? I hate kissing, unless of course, kissing hungry eels, especially SIX-FINGERED hungry eels! Or some egregiously overconfident, temporarily laughing, Sicilian…

Did I mention your JOB is on the line?
