Apple releases QuickTime 7.2 for Mac and Windows; adds full screen viewing

Apple today released QuickTime 7.2 for Mac and Windows which addresses critical security issues and delivers:

• Support for full screen viewing in QuickTime Player
• Updates to the H.264 codec
• Numerous bug fixes

This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.

QuickTime 7.2 is available via Software Update and also as standalone installers.

  1. Wow, I’m kind of sad to say goodbye to my old friend pablo/nop.

    It’s about time Apple sold their Macs with a media player that can do full screen without asking the user to shell out another $30 for the “feature”. Even Windows Media Player wasn’t that evil.

  2. Quicktime now no longer works for me in Firefox! I have been forced to switch back to the old, clunky, buggy and slow SAFARI! ARRGH! Help. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get back to using Firefox w/QT?
    I agree with whoever said it before, it seems that as our little cult of Mac grows, Apple does seem to be rushing and getting sloppier with these updates. Not a good first impression for all those newbies out there.

    The advantage of reinstalling the entire program for minor updates is that the installer can check for file corruption in all the other files that were initially installed and replace them if needed.
