Bad news for would-be eBay profiteers, good news for those looking to join the iPhone revolution!
A check of Apple’s online iPhone availability tool shows iPhone units are being restocked after all Apple Stores ran out of stock yesterday.
Currently, there is a mix of red and green dots (indicators of iPhone availability), but red dots are turning green rapidly this morning.
Check iPhone availbility at the Apple Retail Stores here.
In fact, the whole west coast is out, the closest available iphone to me is in Salt Lake City. Come on Apple, get the gerbils in the factory running at high speed!
“…the closest available iphone to me is in Salt Lake City.”
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. o.O
Apple online store now says “limited quantities available”. What does that mean?
C1…. you got that right. “I see dead people!”
My heart pumps piss for the greedy eBay scumbags who take advantage of market situations for personal gain at the expense of the rest of us. Why it isn’t illegal to do this is beyond me. If a corporation did this, they be fined and some would go to jail. eBayers who take advantage of people to make a buck will get theirs in the end. I hope they all rot in the poor farm on this one.
Call the Apple store. The web said no go last night but after seeing this story I called and they had them. I now am a happy owner of a 8GB iPhone.

It’s rather surprising, considering the advanced state of access for the disabled that the MacOS provides, that Apple didn’t stop to think that over 5% of the population can’t easily distinguish between the red and green dots.
Us red/green color-blind people comprise a larger “market share” than the Mac used to have! Can’t they use distinguishable shapes as well as the (to us) almost identical colors?

What have they sold so far? 1 million in a couple of days?
Wasn’t that the goal for the first year of the zune?
I ordered an iPhone on Monday at an ATT store and it arrived today! Can’t complain about that.
Auctioning items on ebay for a profit should be illegal!!! Damn those who willingly bid on items above cost. And those scheming sellers who put items up for auction that are in demand? Those poor buyers don’t have any control over themselves, bidding their money away. Using the same logic, shouldn’t Apple be arrested for selling the iphone at twice the manufacturing cost?
hey, just wanted to share with MDN readers a site that I created just before the iPhone launch…it’s a blog of mine, where I will look into the iPhone a little more closely and give you my opinion! check it…even if for the captured photos — something that really hasn’t been mentioned is the camera feature..it’s trully amazing…
check it!

“Come on Apple, get the gerbils in the factory running at high speed!”
Apple does not use gerbils in their factory. They use Chinese children.
So, let’s get a move on, kids! Don’t make me get the whip!
I think the camera itself is adequate. My only beef is that the software lacks any type of auto correction options. Without a flash, you really need a brightly lit room to take decent pictures.
Outraged,
You might as well arrest a whole bunch of other companies while your at it.
I’ll bet Apple’s “other” retailers are ticked off. They’ve been faithfully selling Macs and iPods for years, and they are missing out on the biggest Apple product EVER. Because activation is done on the owner’s computer through iTunes, there’s no reason Amazon, MacMall, MacConnection, and the rest could not sell iPhones. I wonder if it’s in the Apple/AT&T agreement that only AT&T and Apple can sell iPhone during the exclusivity period… Or if Apple will open it up to their current official resellers as soon as production levels meet ongoing demand.
Well I got to play on a friends iphone and it was heaven! It did everything the commercial said and Steve previewed. We had no problem getting on the web, the ipod section was absolutely awesome!!!!!!! Texting messages was fun–not tedious at all. I am hooked, I am getting one tomorrow when my ATT store opens! 8gig here i come! BTW 3g is overated–it only works really well if you are in the right spot and the right big city. We were on wifi and didn’t notice any slow down, google found the starbucks right away with map and directions–here’s sipping to iphone!
