iPhone waiting lines grow at Apple Store Fifth Avenue

MacDailyNews reader Mark Chessler sent some photos snapped today at Apple Store Fifth Avenue that show more people queuing up for iPhones. In addition, Flickr user “Web2.0 Style” has more photos available here.

MacDailyNews Note: If you have photos of iPhone lines, please email them (or links to them via Flickr, etc.) to webmaster@macdailynews.com

  1. I think that the lines will be a non issue. I suspect that by late Friday anyone who wants an iPhone will have one. All of the time needed to activate the phone has been moved from the store to a time of your convience. If it is true that you can only get one phone it will be a quick turn around time in the store. Supply will be the only constraint.

  2. I think the guy who started the line about 3 days ago over did it. At the end he would of stood, waited, slept, and sat in front of that store for almost a week.
Only for an iPhone? I know its a new revolution to the Mobile phone industry, but does it actually pay? The moment he buys and uses it, it will already lose value ( Like a New Car ). The second it leaves the lot it’s price goes down by thousands.

I would understand maybe 2 days in advance which is still too soon but for a Week?

  3. Dear Oops,

The latest figures on obesity for the US indicate that around 60 percent of Americans are in that category. In that respect he’s part of the norm.

Now here’s an idea. Instead of wishing for a movie star like image why don’t you set up an obesity trading scheme (like a carbon trading scheme). Let others go about their lives and you can stop eating. Oh and for the record I’m trim, balding and short. That means I’m not perfect so I guess that makes me normal.

  4. Dear Norm,

Care to tell me *exactly* when and where I said anything about “wishing for a movie star-like image”? Eh? Can you support your statement? I bet not, in that I never said any such thing.

Furthermore, statistics on obesity are entirely meaningless here. This guy, in his *entirety*, yells “SLOB”.

And furthermore again, I never said anything about anyone being “perfect”. Did I? If so, again, can you show me? Please do.

The fascinating thing about imbeciles like yourself is that you seem to know only extremes. There is either Greg Packer, the slob, or else there is “movie star perfection”. Do you really know of no middle ground? What a pathetic mentality.

Basicallly, what you’ve done here, and what is so often the case on with internet idiots like yourself, is you’ve set up a strawman. And if you don’t know what a strawman is, then I’d suggest you educate yourself.

And by the way, I’m 6’1″, 172 lbs., muscular, blonde hair, and looking good. Choke on it!

  5. From the perspective of the rest of the world, the 5th Avenue line can’t help but make us think that American citizens ARE obese.

    A pity.

I agree with oops, I’d have preferred some non-obese bodies in the line…

  6. Who are these people? Do they have jobs? Shouldn’t they be working so they will be able to afford health care and save for their retirements? I always wonder how people have the time to wait like this…does this mean they gave up their vacations to have an iPhone? Believe me, I have been loading up on Apple stock and options (also AT&T) for months..thanks everyone! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” /> As the U.S. slides towards becoming a third world country, I worry about how these people will survive.
