Top 10 uses of an Apple iPod you’d never expect

“You may be used to seeing people listen to iPods on the train. You may even use one yourself in the gym or while walking the dog. However, the rise of the iPod has prompted generations of developers – and creative end-users – to exploit possibilities other than simply listening to music or watching videos,” Jo Best reports for Silicon.com.

Here is a selection of the best, worst and oddest uses silicon.com has come across:
• Record flight data
• Cut medical bills
• Make your desktop ultra portable
• Improve your tech knowledge
• Polish your bowling
• Run Linux
• Turn it into an enterprise haven
• Get some education

  1. @ Lib –

I think many people have forgotten that “Appeasement” does not work.

If actions by a country was a popularity contest – Europe would now be a Fascist continent ala Germany. If you look at history, the American people did not want to get involved with the war in Europe, even when there was the possiblity that the Nazi’s would overrun Europe.

Yes, I think there were errors made in the Iraq war and yes I think in hindsight things could been done differently.

    But remember the facts –
    1) the entire worlds intelligent agencies thought Iraq had WMD in the 1990’s,
    2) Iraq actually USED WMD’s on both Iran and his own people in the 1990’s
    3) Iraq did not try to refute that they did not have WMD’s in 2003. In fact they kicked out the inspectors that would have proved that Iraq didn’t have WMDs.

And one more point to those who try to make a comparison to the Vietnam war.
In Vietnam, we were fighting those that wanted to get us out.
The current Iraq war – we are fighting those that want to spread radical Islam across the globe.
The enemy is not content to stop at the border.
Please think about this as this is a major distinction of the grave threat the entire Western World faces.

    My two cents.

  2. @ Matrix3

Finally an intellegent opposing point of view !

While most of what you say might be correct, I have but one observation for you concerning this line..

    >The current Iraq war – we are fighting those that want to spread radical Islam across the globe.
The enemy is not content to stop at the border.

The “enemy” you speak of wasnt there in the first place, ’till Bush invaded !
Wouldnt have it been better to focus on the “real” enemy ?
We had the backing of the entire world back then..
    Do we now ?

  3. Refreshing to see if there is a good link yet. None yet, but lots of people giving opinions that no one gives a crap about. You may care, but get this — you don’t matter. No one cares what you think. Reading CNN or watching FOX News isn’t enough information to give you a truly informed opinion. You don’t really know what is going on behind closed doors. No one wants to read it unless they are on a discussion board on that particular subject. Get a life.

  4. Just stopped in to tell you folks that I’ve been reading your intelligent debate on my Air Force One Mac. And ya know what, you’re right. I can’t believe I didn’t see it all clearly until just now. I’m changing foreign policy first thing tomarra mornin’.

Thank you anonymous internet guys and gals,
    W.

They forgot one use: Record your idiot liberal acquaintances as they make fools of themselves with their cut-and-run withering crybaby pussywhipped Qaida-worshipping patheticness!

Military wouldn’t have you, would they?

  6. @ Lib,

    Thank you for your comment.

To answer your questions, yes, I believe the enemy was there before we invaded Iraq.

My reason for this is simply: 9/11

Yes, it was not Iraq that attacked us, BUT those who we now confront are the same fanatics and to a lesser extent those that hate the US from the 1970’s (Iran).

So yes, the enemy was there before we even entered Iraq and is part of a larger ideology than Iraq.

    My three cents

  7. First two were something, but rest of it was last years news.

Recording flight data. I wonder how they do that. I’ve heard aboout it though.

    Like I said, It’s gonna be like 14 000th MDN ’till Leopard’s out. It’s like 30 MDNs a day now ;D
