Apple Computer was discussed in the in-depth session of Jim Cramer’s Mad Money TV program on Thursday, January 4th:
Cramer picked Apple Computer as his No. 2 growth stock of 2007.
Although Apple’s up more than 175% the last two years and more than 50% since July, Cramer believes Apple Computer will move higher because “picking stocks is not like flipping a coin.” There’s no balancing out that occurs, he said. Instead, “winners keep winning and “losers keep losing,” Cramer said.
Cramer considers Apple a winner that has changed the way people listen to music. Not only is it a brand people trust and love, but it is cool, Cramer continued. Moreover, Microsoft’s Zune MP3 player will not be able to push it past Apple, he said.
And now that Apple has set up its operating platform, it should continue to grow with its new iTV and Apple phone products, Cramer said. Because none of the analysts have worked the phone angle into their estimates, Cramer said he expects a “tidal wave” of raised estimates to hit the market soon.
There are always bears and short-sellers, but in Apple’s case “they are wrong and should get buried,” Cramer said.
The bears have been wrong for the last three years by believing Apple’s iPod growth would wear out, and now the company has more growth-drivers than just its iPod, Cramer said. In addition, he believes the options-backdating issue is insignificant and should not affect the stock.
“It has a winning formula, and nothing is going against it.”

Retraction: the video podcast is the lightning round – I didn’t see any Zune smashing but Cramer predicts that Adobe is one of the few tech stocks that will soar in ’07. There was some stuff on DivX too.

Umm, Zune Tang, c’mere. I got somethin’ for ya.
I got a chance to play with a Zune yesterday. The video picture quality was what I was most interested in seeing.
Personally I did not think the picture quality was nearly as good as my 60GB iPod with video.
The screen on the Zune is slightly bigger but the image seemed more blurry or at least less sharp. Having to turn the thing sideways seemed bogus and uncomfortable.
The stupid non-wheel is a lousy way to navigate, if you’re scrolling through a long list the scroll speed starts slow and then goes real fast so you can’t see what just flew by.
Hemorrhoid rage- who said l was getting pissed off? All l`m say who cares about zune… how long can people talk about the crappy zune player…. With your end comment, who looks like a tard not me.. at least l dont get personal.. you do.

I know what you’re thinking… Cramer has somehow gotten wind of our little wager, and is clearly taunting you. I’m sorry you had to witness that, but I can’t say I’m surprised. I think in the coming days we’ll se many highly regarded figures on Wall Street smashing Zunes in celebration of Microsofts coming defeat.
Donald Trump will smash a Zune with his comb-over. Richard Branson will smash one with a guitar. Halliburton will blow one up with an IED. Warren Buffet will smash one but it will be covered under his policy.

I saw Cramer’s show last night – it was awesome! He talked for 10 full minutes about why Apple is his #2 growth stock. He went on and on about why Apple is such a good company, about how bad Windoze sucks, how Apple is starting to take real market share in the PC world, and about rumored future products. Then, he smashed a Zune with a bat and said, “who in the world would want one of these over an iPod? No one!”
It was freakin’ hilarious!

The horror. Cramer doesn’t get it. This guy lies more than a rug. I think what we are witnessing here is a delusional man slipping deeper into madness. The truth will set you free, Cramer. Microsoft’s wildly innovative Zune and fantastic, customer-friendly points system will lead to phenomenal market gains; soon overtaking Apple with ease.
In the meantime I am looking forward to posting ChrissyOne’s video which will include the destruction of an iPod. It will be a mercy killing. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more of this type of thing given the poor design and awful interface on an iPod. Keep your hammer ready, snookums.
BTW, I can’t wait to stream Michael Dell’s appearance live at CES Tuesday at 9:00am PT. I highly recommend you Apple lemmings tune in. What else do you have to do? If Cramer has any sense, he’ll be gushing about Dell’s awesome announcements and prognostications. Tune in Tuesday night when Cramer smashes an iMac and talks up one of those cool Alienware PC’s. Those are cool.

As of 8 PM, Saturday, 1/6/02007, the Zune 30 GB Black player occupies the #88 spot in the Amazon Top 100 Best Sellers (Electronics) list.
Just to put things in perspective:
An Apple iTunes $25 Music Card ranks 22 spots higher at #56.
iPods occupied 4 of the Top 10 spots:
1. Apple 30 GB iPod video Black (5.5 Generation)
4. Apple 1 GB iPod Shuffle Metal (2nd Generation)
7. Apple 2 GB iPod Nano Silver (2nd Generation)
9. Apple 80 GB iPod video Black (5.5 Generation)
