Analyst provides more evidence of upcoming Apple ‘true’ video iPod

“Here’s still more fuel to the fire on the speculation of a video iPod and iPhone. An interesting research note crossed my desk this morning from FBR Research analyst Chris Caso concerning graphics chipmaker Nvidia and PortalPlayer, one of the main chip suppliers on the iPod,” Arik Hesseldahl reports for BusinessWeek.

Hesseldahl reports, “Caso says he thinks Nvidia has landed one of its chips in the upcoming video iPod and that PortalPlayer has been designed out of it. But a PortalPlayer application chip has been designed into the iPhone. Either way its a win for Nvidia, which is in the process of acquiring PortalPlayer for $357 million.”

Full article in which Hesseldahl also reports that Caso expects Apple to move 22 million iPhones in 2007, here.

  1. wow, now it’s up to 22 million phones?!?!
These anal cysts just keep building it up!!!
There’s not even proof that any rumor is true and now look at the supposed numbers?!?!
Apple is going to crash hard if these rumors are false because of this rampant speculation!!!

  2. I agree, Loki. They keep upping the estimates on what they expect Apple to sell of a potential product that has not even been announced/released/verified yet. Unless Apple has blockbuster sales, they will all come away disappointed and lower their estimates again. These guys are idiots!

  6. Apple will sell 50 gazillion iPods, 40 bazillion laptops, and 37 cazillion desktops. Really, I’ll bet a googolplex of dollahs! Apple shares will rocket to the unheard of 923 zillion dollars per share. Yeah, baby!

I think MDN has been royally duped by idiotic people whose only interest is exaggerating the absurd. I reckon a person who falls for this garbage is actually more moronic than the imbecile that promoted the hype.

“Sell, sell, sell!” Duke and Duke.

  7. Good luck with it in the UK. Most of the tv stations – including the Beeb use either WMP or Real. Even Al Jazeera’s english language service uses Real, despite the current fuss over them using a ton of Apple gear for production.

    Tacitus

  8. Hmm. Should I buy Apple in Dec.? Wait until there is another split, which I’m GUESSING will be early 07. MacWorld is around the corner, if there is no phone and no “video ipod” then the stock may take a big hit. But if it is announced then the price may zoom.

I’d think it best to buy before Jan. 07 MacWorld. Even if there is no phone or “video ipod” and the stock takes a plunge, it will recover and continue to grow with a matter of weeks. I’d say buy.

Wait, I’m not an analyst. But I can make better educated guesses.

  9. These guys exactly know what they are doing, but it’s ” a bit more legal” than the spam emails you get these days who call you to invest in a “highly profitable” company…
Cash out ist the right words and that’s what analysts can easily do by “researching the market for indocators” which product might ship soon and in which quantities. They have placed their AAPL orders sooner and when the time is right, they sell and spreas bad news, so that the average investor sometimes misses the opportunity to sell at good price.
Some of those analysts are evil because of there manipulation they do. I read that stuff carefully and wait, until it’s proven true or not.
Use your common sense and don’t invest money which you might need cashed out soon. Nobody, beside if Steve and some other people know, and probably not even Steve, know, how the resultsof the past might be corrected.
So there might be lots of movement in AAPL price coming, but I will never be that ignorant to keep it up to analysts to tell me if I should sell or buy AAPl, I can ans will decide myself. Period.

    Damn, it feels so good once the words are out… ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
