No Scroll Zone: Bill O’Reilly slams Apple iPod

“Apparently sparked by the PlayStation 3 launch, conservative pundit Bill O’Reilly took off after video game culture and digital technology generally in yesterday’s Radio Factor,” GamePolitics reports. “The controversial talk show host, who advertises his program as a ‘no spin zone’ offered the following spin on Apple’s iPod:”

I don’t own an iPod. I would never wear an iPod… If this is your primary focus in life – the machines… it’s going to have a staggeringly negative effect, all of this, for America… did you ever talk to these computer geeks? I mean, can you carry on a conversation with them? …I really fear for the United States because, believe me, the jihadists? They’re not playing the video games. They’re killing real people over there.

  1. Talk about a complete lack of social skills, Mr. O’Reilly has no idea how to communicate with the generation he’s so bent on criticizing. I’m 32, while not being considered young anymore, I at least understand that the the ipod toting youth of today operate in social circles of a different kind. From computers to cell phones younger generations seek out their desired peer groups in much different ways. Remeber Bill, it was the non iPod wearing bastards like you who created jihadist and terrorists in the first place!

Oh, no. I am having FUN!
(You’ll find that one of the halmarks of a neocon-nut-who-is-confused-and-thinks-they’re-“conservative” is thin-skein.

    Another? Can’t admit when wrong.
Another you say? Not too articulate. (See Farly, above).

Ok. One more. Not too smart (See farly, above).

(This is not aimed at the trily intelligent and engaging conservative posters on this board, such as TowerTone, or maybe even Jerry T.- unless he has a “Michael Richards” problem).

Why are people trying to dig up bullshit about Olberman that is unrelated to what he says on the show?
Because: you have nothing else to stand on, and, the truth hurts.

  3. I seriously thought Keith Olbermann died years ago. I mean, he hasn’t been on SportsCenter in what seems like forever. He’s lucky if he pulls 1/100th of the audience these days that he did back on ESPN. His 15 minutes were definitely up once he left there.
