  1. I completely agree with “Noraa Haras”.

I am not renewing my account (wishing I could get a pro-rated refund). Other relatives of mine have already cancelled. My biggest advice is to make sure you do NOT have the “auto-renew” box checked in your .Mac account settings.

I went to GoDaddy.com, for $49 I got a real domain name, 5Gb of space, and 500 email addresses. “Manager@NuLookGraphics.com” looks much more professional on business cards than “NuLookGraphics@Mac.com”.

I use iWeb and “Publish as Folder”, drag the folder into the CyberDuck application (free), and I am fully published. It is so easy, my mother (70+yrs old) prefers iWeb w/ CyberDuck and loves the savings.

If you want simpler web design, GoDaddy offers an on-line HomePage-like free service, too.

GoDaddy is not as user friendly to navigate around, but a little extra time and it is all worth it.

Don’t need all 5Gb? You can buy other domain names for $9.95/yr (or less) each and just redirect it to your existing space.

Yea, I don’t get the cute version of slide show controls or a built-in page counter, but page counters are everywhere for free. In fact StatCounter.com gives me tons of stats on my pages and emails me weekly with daily stats… for FREE. Very nice!

I don’t ever see going back to .Mac unless they cut the price by 50% and offer real domain server services.
