As seen on CNET.com, Apple has debuted three new “Get a Mac” ads online. These three ads have been running in Apple Retail Stores as previously reported and are not currently available on Apple.com’s “Get a Mac” television ad section.
For now, at least, these three new ads seem to be ‘Net-only.
MacDailyNews reader “getamac” has posted all three ads on YouTube:
Get a Mac – “Self Pity” ad:
Get a Mac – “Better Results” ad:
Get a Mac – “Counselor” ad:
UPDATE: 3:50pm EDT: Apple has now added the three new ads to their website: http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/

Beryllium… Really? I see the “Get a Mac” ads on tv all the time. They always play during prime time during shows like “lost” “prison break” “desperate Housewives” “24” etc… Apple is definitely spending the bucks making sure these get seen.
He said I didn’t put out enough! Ridiculous. Enjoy lonley life and this “blog” buddy boy!
Whatever
My only question is how do you pull the videos from You Tube? to save them??
I like them!
re: QUESTION…Just email your friend and tell him to go to Apple’s website and watch the ads there. That way tou don’t have to buy Quicktime Pro, or send a large file attachment.
Justme2: it’s Chiatt/Day. They’ve done all the cool Apple ads (including Ridley Scott’s “1984”); during the no-Steve period, they got fired. Steve brought them back with “Think Different” (“Here’s to the crazy ones”) and they’ve done everything since. They’re also a legendary firm because of the 1960s/1970s Volkswagen ads (which superficially resemble the Apple campaigns in terms of succinctness, clarity, directness and simplicity).
Wanting to see the ads in better quality I go the Apple site. IE became non functional in the second video. Restarted IE 2X, no go. Restarted windoes XP (I’m at work) got two of the vids, then same problem again.
LOVE WINDOWS! (not)
Gisele is hot!!! OK, now here come the “bag of bones” comments. Now, don’t get me started about bones….
Quick Think : “Just email your friend and tell him to go to Apple’s website and watch the ads there.”
xxxxxxxxx
If I send him a link with the word “apple” in the URL, he won’t click it. However, If I send him a QT movie called “Better Results,” he will open it and be forced to watch.. Ha! I’m evil, I know….
Why is Mac saying PC is good @ numbers? Honestly what can a PC do that a Mac can’t? What flickin’ numbers are PC’s good at. It just further promotes the stereotype that if you want a “creative” computer–get a mac, but if you want a normal computer–get a pc. Mac’s are good for anything and everything–even games if more were made for them. I mean really, wouldn’t it have been better for Mac to say “PC, you’re great at cleaning up viruses and spyware–I mean you do it all the time”
I mean come on I’m not saying to completely trash PCs on the comercial, but don’t give ’em an inch either. These should not be the “PCs are cool, Macs are cool” commercials.
CAUTION:
The above is a rant and should be viewed that way. Any attempt to take it too seriously will result in frustration on mine and your part.
The views expressed therein are not necessarily those of MacDailyNews, Steve Jobs, or my dog.
Have a great day
QUESTION??
just go to the youtube website and copy the URL
You can also grab them and save them as quicktime
Zero, it doesn’t matter now since they were posted on apple.com and I was able to save them as quicktime… But for future reference, how do you “grab” and save a youtube video as quicktime?
Fred— The famous VW ads of the 1960’s were done by Doyle, Dane and Bernbach—New York.
Counselor is the best. Made me laugh out loud.
Great ads…
The counselor and imovie are the best.
Not one of these series of ads has failed yet…in fact I’m sure there’s life in them for a good few more yet:
Such as PC Guy worrying about his ability to play games in his new incarnation (Vista will play games 15% slower than XP ha ha)..
And of course when Vista catches it’s first viral cold…
And PC guy having to disassociate himself from failed his bastard cousin called Zoon…
And Mac guy wondering why PC guy has such a lot of difficulties running 32/64 bit apps simultaneously…
I am deaf. what did they said?
Dude, you don’t have to join youtube to watch the movies, only to upload movies or make comments.
What people are saying is good advice… just go to the apple.com site, etc., but unnecessary.
You can send them to youtube just as easily.
When you “send” someone a youTube by clicking the “share” button, they receive an email which invites them to join youTube for free so that they can watch the video that their friend sent them.. So yes, when you “share” a youTube, the other person is required to join… Try sending a share request to yourself if you don’t believe me.
And yes, I know that I can send the person to youTube directly, but that is what I was trying to avoid.. I simply wanted to know if there is a way to copy a YouTube video into an email message so that my friend who dislikes Apple very much would see the video without knowing what it was. Sending him a link with apple in the url, or sending him to a youTube page directly would give it away.
So if anyone can answer Yes or no, I’d appreciate it.. Is there a way to copy a YouTube video into an email? If yes, please explain how.
You can download the YouTube video file by opening the Activity window in Safari and looking for the biggest file – usually it will say ‘getvideo’ in the URL and it will be at least a few Megs. But then you will need to have a converter in order to make it into a QT movie.
I use iSquint
http://www.isquint.org/
Works great for me.
Forgot to mention….
you have to click on the video URL in the activity window and it will download the file.
Morons!!!
Just command click (in Safari) on the “YouTube” logo to open the original movie in a new tab/window and copy the URL and paste a link in a email.
Hey (not so) Rapid Dog —
what part of;
“And yes, I know that I can send the person to youTube directly, but that is what I was trying to avoid.. ”
