CodeWeavers’ CrossOver Mac allows you to install your favorite Windows applications and games on Mac OS X. CrossOver includes an easy to use, single click interface, which makes installing Windows software simple and fast. Once installed, your application integrates seamlessly in OS X. Just click and run your application directly from the OS X Finder. Clicking a Windows file or document — including email attachments — will launch the appropriate Windows program, allowing you to work on the files. Best of all, you do it all easily and affordably, without needing a Microsoft operating system license.
Adding your favorite Windows software is easy, using their normal installation CDs. Just place a Windows CD in your Mac, and CrossOver will recognize it and offer to begin the installation process. CrossOver then completes the installation and configures your application to run on your Mac. That’s all there is to it.

Why would I use this app to run MS office, whenthe better version was designed for, and pre-installed on, my MAC(s)?
Redmond, start your photocopiers.
Whoops, no use, I guess. You’re screwed.
STEAM?!?
Does that also mean the games that run via steam, or is it just the content delivery and validation part?
One could hope.
If anyone finds a way to run The Sims 2 under this, let me know… :p

Some of the excel files I have been forced to use won’t open in Mac Excel.
Mac not MAC…..
I wondered about games too, at 1rst glance.
But, again, if so- why would they be saying you can run “MS Excel ’03”?
CodeWeavers uses and participates in the WINE project. They joined the DarWine project after the Intel switch was announced by Apple. The great thing about using Cross Over Office is commercial support. This will be a good thing for many trying to get Macs into Windows-only environments.

Sounds like an April Fool’s joke though?
Wow! If this is for real, and works as seemlessly as they claim, it could be a winner!
Is it heck an April Fool Joke
Why no IE6? When i get my apple notebook PC i will need IE 6!!
This can’t be a good thing. To just blindly put in a Windows install disk for some app? Security issues, anyone?
