2. Fundraise for MyGOP: As a special thank you, the hosts of the five MyGOP house parties that raise the most money for the Republican Party through MyGOP from 10 or more friends will receive a Special Republican Edition iPod (video-capable).

  1. “Stop quoting Churchill, he would be sickened to be associated by that jackass Bush and his neo-con cronies.”

I did not associate Churchill with the current administration, nor did I say I was a fan of the current administration (I’m not). This was about the GOP. I was just stirring the pot. Looks like it worked.

  2. You pinko, liberal, commies make us all sick! You are pathetic. Immediate 2nd grade bashing when MDN posts anything that mentions a Republican. You people will never get any where in life. It’s a good thing you were born in the 20th century becuase you would be toast in earlier history. No one would have taken care of your sorry asses with hand outs and simpathy for real criminals (I know you’ll try to pretend that Bush is a criminal but that couldn’t be farther from the truth). Winston Churchill would most likely be rallying to take out Iran and North Korea right now. Not quivering in a corner like you pansies. Yes our government is far from perfect and corrupt in a lot of ways. Big corporations have far too much influence. FDA is a joke. But it gives us something to work on. You don’t take out Iran now we’ll be nuking the whole middle east back to the stone age eventually after they supply terrorists with nukes. Just wait and see. It’s headed in that direction at a rapid pace.

  3. mike k: i wonder if this thread will degenerate into an opportunity for Americans to bash on each other with no actual argument but rather with partisan buzz words.

    i wonder …

    Exactly….sigh

  5. “I’m an equal opportunity supporter – I pretty much hate ALL politicians”

    ME TOO.

OK the Churchill quote is bogus, breathe in, breathe out.

Jimbo, namecalling is so simple when you’re hiding behind your firewall.

  6. 5- Taps phones looking for privat information.
    6- Lies about music playing.
7- iPod aproval rating will sinc to 28%.
8- Will isolate and torture other MP3 players who play Arab music.
9- Will display World Music Demos (WMD) but you won’t be able to find them on the HD.

  7. Despite what many of you might think, this isn’t a political blog. Take your fight elsewhere. There are plenty of places on the web to espouse your political views and complain about this party or that one.

  8. Will it play for you if you make less than $100,000/yr? Or if you’re gay, female or a minority?

Do you have to join the Klan to get the secret activation code? Or beat up some queers or bomb some abortion clinics?

Do I have to drive to South Dakota or Texas to pick it up?

All these questions need to be answered.

  9. Grass roots fund raiser? Isn’t that like raising the tide by pissing into the ocean? They just want more “little people” in their party so they don’t seem so obnoxiously top-heavy.

When the Republicans are in office, they can’t pour money into their buddies’ hands fast enough. When the country has spent too much money, where do you think the money went? When we have an expensive war, where do you think the money goes? It goes to all of the huge government contracts for supplies. They want you to think it “goes to the troops”… well, not really. Only a tiny fraction goes to the front lines. The government continues to spend $50 for $2 hammers and $5 per MRE that costs $.25 to make. The troops get a $2 hammer and the $.25 MRE and the big businesses keep the difference.

    Take a look here…
    http://www.house.gov/budget_democrats/images/fy06/realistic.pdf
…please, tell me where all of that money actually went?

Bush spent the SURPLUS AND the DEFICIT amounts!!!
If you gave me $1000 for supplies and I gave you $10 worth of goods, wouldn’t you be a bit pissed off?! That is exactly how the government spends your money.

Then they use fear mongering, “protection from terrorists”, the governments own special brand of terrorizing their own citizens to justify their wasteful spending just so their friends can make an extra $100 million above their already bloated salaries.

Makes me sick to call myself an American citizen.

  10. Oh dear. Once again MDN chooses to wave its Republican support in our faces.

I mean, rabid Mac advocacy is one thing, but such blatant political partisanship (in any direction) is pretty annoying on a tech-news website.

  11. Hey, mac user 47! Did Iraqis hijack those planes? Oh, wait, most of the hijackers (along with their boss, Osama) were from Bush’s bestest buddy country, SAUDI ARABIA. And the others were from Bush’s other bestest buddy in the Middle East, EGYPT. Get your head out of your @ss!

Cheney, Woflowitz, Rumsfeld, Feith and the whole neocon gang had been planning to attack Iraq since about 1992. Only mindless sheep like you can accept this war as somehow justified by the horrific attack on 9/11. Maybe your Glorious Leader should actually spend some time going after THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY BLEW UP THE WORLD TRADE CENTER! There’s a novel thought! Jack@ss!

Or perhaps freedom is just too much of a mental burden for you. Perhaps living in a dictatorship makes life easier. Enjoy it, Comrade.

  12. Uh, isn’t Steve Jobs a Democrat? (99% of Apple’s PAC dollars went to Dems in 2004.)

My bet: some customizer is doing it cuz Steve wouldn’t approve of it.

MDN MW: “come”; as in Bush-lovers need to come to their senses

  13. MU 47,

It all comes down to your belief that Bush is somehow associated with God. And that’s the reason you don’t think things through, or acknowledge how badly Bush has fucked everything up he’s touched, including the war.

  14. I would appreciate it if all the trolls would do a spell check because you sound like idiots.

    Right click->Spelling->Spelling…

Is the a “I LOVE MAC OS X” version if I hold a Mac house party?

MW: perhaps. Well, it’s worth a try then!

  15. Hey C:

Under a democratic president (Clinton) we had prosperous times and no deficit. Now we have the largest deficit ever, low conusmer confidence an unjust misguided war, we are losing all of our personal privacy and rights….I could go on and on and on and on.

A usual the democrats have to come in and undo all the damage Republican presidents lay down.

We have a FASCIST leader and it’s getting worse!

I hope your Libertarian leader could do better.

Hell anybody with more than HALF a brain could do better.

  16. Take a deep breath everyone. Ah, much better.

Republican’t aren’t Nazis, and Democrats aren’t Communists, and there are nice people on both sides.

There are nice Republicans and nice Democrats.

Disagreement does not make people evil.
