FastMac today announced a full line of custom painted Mac Mini cases now available for preorder with zero downtime. Colors currently offered include Onyx (Black), Chili (Red), Bubblegum (Pink), Midnight (Dark Blue), Wasabi (Lime), Tangerine (Orange), and Retro (Beige With An Original Muti-Colored Apple Logo). The customized cases are now available for preorder and start at $69.95. Cases come with a 30 day money back guarantee and will begin shipping in 2-3 weeks.
FastMac includes all necessary tools including a modified putty knife to make the installation process as easy as possible. A video install and PDF instructions are also provided in several languages including: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, and Italian.
“FastMac has come up with a uniquely FastMac solution for modders everywhere that’s, well, fast and offers immediate gratification,” said Michael Lowdermilk, Business Development Manager for Fastmac Performance Upgrades, Inc., in the press release. “With our 30 day money back guarantee if you don’t like it then just send it back, it’s that simple.”
In preparation the cases are first cleaned and scuffed with a pre-solvent. A coat of epoxy sealer and then four coats of special low solids/high pigmentation aircraft quality paint are then applied. A final coat of clear urethane and high gloss finishes it off. All paints are two part catalyzed. Logos are silk screened on and a special low solids/high pigmentation urethane is again used.
Other colors will be added depending on interest and customized paint jobs are also available.

I’d go with “retro”. However, I think it would be much cooler to gut a mac classic and put the mini inside, hooked up to the 9″ screen. That would be off the hook!
i thought steve was ‘done’ with all that colored shit
The Fast Mac site is quite slow. The retro looks great. But colorwarepc.com does a much better job, and you can buy your rig there, too. Here is the link:

There is an option on their site if you want to send them your own machine for customization. Here is that link for Apple products:

supertim – i think thats already done, its over on hackaday, osx in b/w
Well flappo, Steve doesn’t own FastMac. It is a 3rd party company offering mod cases.
Pull your head out of your arse, why don’t ya?
FASTMAC has one SLOW site.
Heh, it looks like the site is hosted on a Mini, and has cratered for the order phase.
Craploads of MySQL errors.
I’d like a painted or colored top insert only. I want to keep my metal edges as they are, maybe clearcoated.
Judging by the prep and materials used, it looks like they do a top notch job.
I just ordered Bubble Gum for my niece. I might even get the same color for a gay friend of mine.
That website sure has plenty of “downtime”.
I’m glad MDN deleted my comment and changed their spelling of “Appl” to “Apple”, almost as if none of it ever happened. Hmm, maybe it didn’t actually happen. Is this 1984?
I see your post, Moe. Are you hallucinating again? Were you going to yell at MDN if they didn’t fix the error or praise them for keeping it real and talking in typonese? *rolls eyes*
Hope they contacted Apple legal. The retro looks ripe for a lawsuit.
