TVMicro, powered by EyeTV 2, enables you to watch analog TV on your Mac anywhere. Barely the size of an iPod shuffle, TVMicro delivers a great picture and is compact enough to take with you on any journey. Simply plug TVMicro into a free USB 2.0 port, connect your antenna or cable and start watching TV. TVMicro (£58.00, around US$100) is perfectly suited for users on the go or people wanting a quick and simple solution to watch TV on their Mac.
Key Features
• Watch analog TV on your Mac almost anywhere in the world
• Watch TV in a window or in full screen
• Browse Online TV Guides to find the right TV show for you
• Remote Control included for perfect viewing experience
TVMicro can record TV straight to your hard drive with a single mouse click. Files are recorded in VCD (MPEG-1), S-VCD (MPEG-2) or DVD (MPEG-2) quality. Unlike its big brother EvolutionTV, TVMicro relies on your Mac to transform the TV signal into a digital file. You’llll need a dual G4, dual G5 or Intel DualCore processor to record in full DVD quality.
With the included remote control, instead of fiddling with keys and the mouse, simply press a button to change channels, volume, etc. After all you are watching TV!
EyeTV 2 software features a built-in Electronic Programm Guide, which lets you find the shows you want to watch. Search by actor, director, movie name, filter by program genre, etc… Once you have found the TV show you are looking for, press the record button and TVMicro will run a scheduled recording. Even better, your Mac will start up automatically when the recording is due to start. EyeTV 2 supports TitanTV(USA), tvtv (Europe) and iEPG (Japan).

Listen, have you heard about the new boot camp thing from Apple?
Won’t do HDTV naturally and the US market is slowly going digital from analog by 2007-8. So if you have a digital cable box, forget it.

MacDude, er I mean Joe… Take a look at the website, they have a digital version as well..
Hey Mike!,…..Look a little closer………. the micro is analog only! The Mini is ATSC (digital). and the website doesn’t seem to work well with Safari, No link to the mini.
I would think about buying an ATSC version

The TVMini HD link works for me in Safari:

It’s tempting, but I like the idea of hardware encoding:

I just got the TVmini and must say I’m very impressed.
Next I’m buying a cable version and a Mac mini for my livingroom. Why can’t Apple integrate EyeTV to Frontrow?
“Even better, your Mac will start up automatically when the recording is due to start.”
Wow! That’s actually impressive.
