“Companies are now designing TV ads to appeal to the iPod generation, hoping people will like the commercials enough to download them onto their video iPods and share them. For the first time, Anheuser-Busch Cos. will make its Super Bowl ads available for postgame downloading at http://www.budweiser.com . The beer giant worked with Maven Networks of Cambridge to create an application that allows consumers to download their favorite beer commercials and watch them on video iPods, laptops, and computer screens,’ Chris Reidy reports for The Boston Globe. “At http://www.degreedeodorant.com starting the day after the game, consumers will be able to download, in video iPod-friendly form, versions of a Degree for Men Super Bowl ad titled ‘Stunt City.'”

Countdown to the first public complaint of “adult” companies targeting youth…

It’s all well and good making any video content available in iPod format – kudos to them, we all know people watch silly little video clips on the net, if they’re free why not? However (and I’ve not tried the site/app) why did they need a special app? Just let people download the files or even podcast them, why did they need to pay another company to develop something?
It’s a good move. Wise. I like it.
Since my Panthers didn’t make it, it seems like the only thing worth watching during the SuperBowl will be the commercials…
Turd ..

Good. Hopefully this will encourage advertisers to make better commercials. Eventhough everyone will say they don’t like commercials, they can always point out a good commercial that entertained them. Who doesn’t enjoy the 1984 MAC commercial or the Think Different commercials? When done correctly they entertain and people will download what entertains them.
mac dood, the Intellectual Pproperty lawyers for the NFL have tracked your IP address and will be banging down your door soon. You have committed an unpardonable offense by naming ‘the sporting event that must not be named.’
All your bowl are belonging to us
“Bring us some sweatie footie or tag team wrestling!”
Indeed! Heeheehee. Oh my…
I admit I want to see the MacGyver one. I’m sure it’ll show up online somewhere one way or the other, whether an official download or not.
Steelers will jump out to a 10-0 lead but Seattle will score early in the 2nd quarter to make it 10-7 at the half. Steelers then get a field goal and make it 13-7. Seattle scores a touchdown to make it 14-13. Steelers have ball and score in the 4th quarter to make it 21-13. Seattle then drives and has to settle for field goal: 21-16. Steelers drive but eventually punt. 4 minutes to go Seahawks dive but with just under 2 minutes, Hasselback throws an interception to Ploamalu. Steelers burn clock and game ends 21-16: Steelers cover the spread and win Superbowl XL in a huge defensive battle in the trenches. Porter gets 3 sacks. Alexander gets just over 100 yards in the loss. Big Ben is MVP.
Rasterbator –
I’m gonna keep tabs of the stats of the Superbowl and match them up to your predictions after the game…
Sounds like you are on to something….
Also-
Thanks, mac dood for the words of encouragement…

“…..All your bowl are belonging to us….”
What the heck does that mean ??…. If English is your second language, then please accept my apology … but to be honest.. that doesnt make a damn bit of sense to me ..
Rasterbator…
Yeah, I’ll be checkin back here for your predictions at the end of each quarter…
While, I will admit to hoping the Seahawks take it (cuz they have never been this far before) … I suspect you may be right !

They should charge $1.99 for em too. It’d be worth the fall out!
mac dood. dark nite was not accurate. Phrase should be “all your bowl are belong to us”
stil don’t get it? Google “all your base” or “Zero Wing”
They should offer the Super Bowl ads as free downloads from the iTMS.
