Kris Black and Else Tennessen are pleased to announce the launching of their new venture, “MacComicStrip,” a comic strip blog for Macintosh computer users and fans. The site went live December 14, 2005.
The strip will feature new artwork and stories on a weekly basis describing the fun, quirks, challenges and foibles of being a Macintosh computer user. The Macintosh itself will take on new life and new “personas” in this lively comic strip. Commentary from Kris and Else will accompany the strip. An online shop with fan-fare is also available.
“We love Macs. That’s all there is to it,” says Kris. “We want people to know how much you can do with them, how they make art fun, and what a culture there is around them, We’re proud to say we’re Mac users.”
“People will love Kris’ winsome characters and clean drawing style. It’s fun to think of and write the stories for these strips. I like to incorporate pop culture and our own family doings to add to the fun,” adds Else.
Kris and Else became friends when they were working together in a graphic arts shop. They discovered their mutual love of all things Mac, art, and comics and a collaboration was born. Many conversations and Mac cheerleading sessions later, MacComicStrip was created.
Kris Black draws the strip. By day he is a graphic artist and art director for a secret government agency. He received his degree in graphic design from the University of South Carolina. This comic strip is his dream come true. Kris lives with his wife and daughter in Columbia, SC. Kris’ goal in life is to be a superhero.
Else Tennessen writes up their storylines and text material. She is a writer and artist based in Illinois, and received her degrees from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. She works for a publishing company. Else lives with her husband, four sons, dog and guinea pigs in a suburb of Chicago. Else’s goal in life is to retire to the Shire.

funny!!!
JOF is nice too but I’m more of an applegeeks fans
those are awful
More people who just love their Macs.
Thank the stars for Macs – they make the world a better place.
Windows just make a problem for the world…
And as they say: “Round here we solve problems. If you become a problem, look out!”
I’ll go out on a limb and say that almost all webcomics are awful. Perry Bible Fellowship, Fat Guy Comix, and some Penny Arcade
Ehhh… I don’t even have to read it. I can feel the aura of suck from the press release alone. “Winsome characters” (shudder).
Oh god. I read it. The saccharin. It’s nauseating.
AppleGeeks.com – Go Hawk!
Is this supposed to be funny? All 5 of them are awfull.
It’s cute–I liked the one with the child pulling out their crayon to finish Daddy’s drawing…
Of course, I’ll stick with AppleGeeks for silly Mac stuff. Questionable Content is done on Macs, too.
Please make them funnier or it will be an embarrassment to Apple
Not a very auspicious start. So far those comics are boring as hell and really have little to do with Macs, other than that they use them.
For a really hilarious comic strip that is created on a Mac and from time to time shows a Mac in the strip, check out MouseWax. (No, I’m not affiliated with this comic strip in any way!)
I think the art work is great. I think with a little time, this strip will round itself out. They have just begun!
