Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina’s destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands victims left homeless with critical necessities. Direct hits, all of them. We know from personal experience that tempers can flare as people await the chance to return home to find out what hurricanes have wrought. Try to have patience and help each other.

This is going to be a huge can of worms politically. No one did much right, and the combination of a hurricane that wasn’t as bad as originaly thought THEN later levee breaks turned out to be a double whammy. When unprecidented disasters happen, the response can never be very good. It will be found that the NO government screwed up, that the Louisana goverment screwed up, and that the federal government screwed up. Meanwhile the angry left, who does no one any good, will complain about the white vs. black thing. And 2 supreme court openings at once………..and the war………….and the price of gas…………….biggest can of worms that I can remember. Yet I sit here on the left coast unaffected, other than having to curtail spurious driving……….what a country!
