First Albany reiterates ‘buy’ on Apple Computer, raises target price; HP iPod concerns ‘unwarranted’

Analysts at First Albany have reiterated their ‘buy’ rating on Apple Computer Inc (AAPL) and raised their target price from $44 to $48.

In a research note, First Albany analysts mentioned that concerns about HP’s decision to stop reselling the iPods under its own brand, caused a recent “unwarranted” decline in the company’s share price. According to the analysts, Apple Computer has significantly increased its own distribution points and revenues from HP comprised just a small part of Apple’s total revenues.

Synaptics’ recent sluggish outlook reflects Apple Computer’s decision to exclude the former’s products from the next generation iPods, the analysts say.

  1. Just thinking out loud here … but … is there any “Tech Heads” out there who can comfortably put the issue of the Trusted Computing kernal in OSX for Intel to rest ??

    After reading .. this
article, Im wondering if Mac Heads around the world will or will not revolt ??

Someone with knowledge in this area … please respond…

  2. the hp ipod thing was good but kind of weird anyway, wasn’t it? who needs the stamp of hp approval on a product that’s already fully pc compatible out of the box? perfectly reasonable that the new hp administration would kill the deal, but it’s hp that’s going to suffer by not selling them.

mdn word: square, as in hp is a company of squares and the ipod shouldn’t be associated with them anyhow.
