  1. “A 12.4 percent decline in shares of Pixar Animation Studios (PIXR.O)) weighed on the Nasdaq, a day after the company reported slow DVD sales of “The Incredibles,” an animated tale of a superhero family. Pixar’s stock fell to $43.87.”

  2. All Windows Computers come with WiMP (Windoze Media Player) installed as the default player and is so deeply embedded that it cannot be truly deleted, like IE.
Until the HP Apple deal, all Windows users had to download and install iTunes/QuickTime. If you buy anything else Windows, you still have to. That makes the choice of end-users obvious.

  3. It has nothing to do with the movie itself– I bet it’s a sign people have begun to cut back on purchases (gas prices?) Even BlockBuster is starting to play on peoples’ fears/ buget constraints by pushing rentals bigtime.

  4. What does it cost you in gasoline to buy the Incredibles DVD via Amazon?

How about this – it´s a cartoon. They saw it, it was fun, they don´t want to own it.

Plus people are shifting their time away from tv viewing.
Plus its the summer season, watch Pixar have some special next Christmas season.

Thats the problem when you have to invade another country just to get your gas. (ooops I’m sorry, I meant weapons of mass destruction. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

Are you new the US? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA OMG..

Yes, the TV thing is over, Americans now read books and go the opera.. haahhahahahahhahahah

  7. To all the morons talking about Pixar’s DVD sale slump, I got news for you. According to L.A. Times today, the whole DVD market is experiencing soft sale. Not only Pixar but Dreamwork’s Shrek 2 also suffers! It is an industrial wide trend now. According to Pixar, they expect about 7% less sale than what they expected, which is not so bad and the nee-jerk reaction of the stock investor is just typical punting mentality. Ignore those morons! Don’t forget that this thread is about music download, so please don’t side track.

Uh, I got MR and MRS SMITH on my computer right now..

does that have anything to do w it.

As bandwidth and wifi grow, downloading movies, before you buy them..*snicker.. is getting easier and easier…

    Hey.. screw you, i’m a student.. a poor Mac user. I can’t afford anti-virus software either…

  9. “…Thats the problem when you have to invade another country just to get your gas.”

Hey, when is all that free Iraqi gas getting here, anyway? Have the tankers left yet? What? That’s just a tired line of bs? Well, dang! Might as well keep repeating it…

  10. “…Gas prices don’t have anything to do with it, it’s Mactheripper, dvddecrypter, et al.”

Maybe – but I think it’s partly because people are starting to realize they don’t really need a copy of the ‘Missing In Action’ trilogy. If, heaven forbid, they ever want to sit through it again, there’s always Netflix.

  11. uh, regarding the Pixar thing, which has nothing to do with MacDailyNews:

could it be that “The Incredibles” on DVD has seen it’s sales saturation period and is trailing off? Duh?

  12. Sure thing Paris, what’s your number?

    I’m sure my life partner wouldn’t mind me calling you. In fact, I’m sure she’d enjoy your company as well…. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  13. Ooooh! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”ohh” style=”border:0;” />

That MDN comment sounded like Triumph!
    Where is he? I miss him ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”confused” style=”border:0;” />

  14. Regarding my comment about the gas price/Iraq invasion, its the unnecessary ongoing cost of invading Iraq (Plus why invade in the first place? for oil supplies?)that is starting to have an effect on the US economy which is causing A the price of gas to go up, B people to be more concious about driving gas guzzling SUVs around and consider changing to more energy efficient/sensible/econimcal compact cars and C also being more thrifty with their cash as the jobs market softens and people ease up on their excessive spending of pricey luxury goods such as plasma screen TVs, home cinema systems etc which also means that eletonics stores are not selling so much stock. Why buy the DVD of the Incredibles when you have already seen the movie? I am not knocking it but the US economy IS softening.

  15. winmacguy –

Great work! It takes a real anti-Bush zealot to somehow link the takedown of Saddam’s regime to the slow sales of a DVD. Congrats, man! That’s a real zinger of a train of thought, there!

Is there anything else you can blame Bush for? Does it burn when you pee? I’m sure Haliburton had something to do with it!
