“Apple’s iTunes Music Store has signed an exclusive deal to distribute digital versions of Oasis’ tracks. Apple’s success in signing Oasis to its service means that a new selection from the band’s catalogue will be made available each week in the run-up to Christmas, with ‘Definitely Maybe’ available now,’ Jonny Evans reports for Macworld UK.
More info about available Oasis tracks via iTunes here.
It’s a shame Liam is such a twat.
I’m underwhelmed.
Well, he thinks he is John Lennon so maybe this is as close as Apple can get to the Beatles on iTMS.
Randy hahahahahaha
best fookin’ ban’ in de worl’ man!
That’s right Apple beat the MSFT at their own game.
Get the big name artists to sign deals exclusively to itunes. Then msft can’t get those songs and their catalog will always be a little behind.
Cut MSFT off at the pass, my only question is why haven’t you allowed licensing of fairplay to other company’s. don’t reject it yet, just wait for the perfect time to expand.
Well, OK. I like the idea of signing exclusive agreements with bands but Oasis isn’t exactly that big a deal anymore. I’d argue that they were never as good as they claimed to be, but these days does anyone pay them any mind at all?
I’m waiting for the exclusive deal with the Dave Matthews Band, not only for new albums sold in stores, but for all their live shows released similar to the way John Mayer did, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Dave Matthews said their goal is to have their own online music store, just for their stuff. But really that’s as it should be. as long as they don’t use WMA!
Its not about which band has an exclusive deal with Apple, its how many in varous genres for all sorts of fans.
U2
Eminem
Oasis
Alicia Keys
best band in england, perhaps the best band on the best band on the planet (of course this is my personal opinion)
Who’s Oasis? (I’m serious though I don’t seriously care for an answer.)
Best Band in England my arse.
You are forgetting Radiohead.
Oasis are just an overblown pub rock band with just a couple of half decent songs and lots of crap. They probably would be great to see live in a small venue, but so are The Hamsters.
Has MSN Music signed any bands to exclusive download deals?
Cold Play is a million times better than Oasis.
Tommy Boy, Bill Gates has signed all of the bands that he thinks are cool to MSN Music. Look for comlete catalogs of music from:
– The Village People
– Peaches & Herb
– Sha Na Na
– The Kiss Experience
– The Music from Hee Haw
– Eddie Murphy (music only, no comedy)
Oh wait, Bill G. didn’t get Eddie Murphy’s “Boogie In Your Butt”. That one was too cool for him.
i qualified my statment with “… my opinion,” you obviously have another one and i will not debate someone on the merits of two great bands
i am not forgetting radiohead, a great band, but considering my favorite album is ‘the bends’ they have not offered me very much recently
i further do not agree with radiohead’s position that they will only sell downloads in complete album form because they claim to be album purists. if this is the case why do the still release singles? why do they not place one long track on their albums?
most bands exhibit some vice, in the case of both oasis and radiohead it is arrogance
coldplay is another great band, although clocks is a terrible song
im glad some mdn readers have such good taste
Add another one for Radiohead.
Radiohead.
Coldplay.
TheMusic.
Oasis??! Read my lips: no matter what millions of brain dead fans may say, these sorry, pathetic, grave-robbing wankers are not the Beatles. Beatles wannabes maybe. Best band in England? What a sick joke. Jesus, rock and roll is dead.
Yankees suck,
I’m sorry man, I’m overjoyed for you that your beloved Red Sox have broken the Curse, but I think the adrenaline rush has temporarily killed your sense of musical taste. No offense, and here’s hoping that the Sox repeat next year.
Another vote for Radiohead, saw them play live once, fantastic!
Good for Apple. I thought Oasis was broken up. When was the last time they had a record out? 1997?
All these bands that were the next Beatles. Ha!
The Stone Roses, Oasis. One album wonders is all there were.
Hopefully, Coldplay will be different.
