MacDailyNews is proud to announce that Apple has named MacDailyNews as a partner in their iTunes Affiliate Program. What this means is that you will see the iTunes logo and iTunes-related offers, music, and content on MacDailyNews.com. When you click these iTunes links on MacDailyNews and proceed to purchase music from Apple’s iTunes Music Store, MacDailyNews will receive a percentage of the sale which helps support our site and also Apple’s iTunes Music Store. The music costs the same as it would if went straight to the iTunes Music Store, so there is no extra charge to you.
We thank you in advance for supporting MacDailyNews by using iTunes links from our site when you wish to purchase music. Of course, we also thank you for your continued strong support all of our sponsors. The great support from MacDailyNews readers is very much appreciated and helps continue the site’s operation by helping to fund our growing hosting and other operational costs.
Below is a working example of an iTunes Music Store link. The iTunes badges will take you to the home of Apple iTunes Music Store by launching iTunes and the specfic music features will take you directly to that artist’s section in iTunes. Ready to buy some Tunes?

Again, thanks to all of our readers for supporting MacDailyNews! Now back to the news…
Oh yeah, if I was an affiliate and bought from my own store, do I in effect, get the music cheaper?
I’m sure the MDN folks buy music, so can they buy from their own store?
Join the club!

richIP, There is a reason why iTunes isn’t in Canada, It is not illegal there to download free music. Who the hell would be stupid enough to pay for music, when they can get it free with out any fear of being caught???
Good news, now I can support two great things at once. Apple and MDN.
I agree that there is a lot of dreck here at times, from vulgar, hate-filled people, but how do you censor this sort of stuff without possibly throwing out a brilliant (yet nauseating) post?
I wouldn’t want that job.
I guess I prefer just skipping over the obviously bad ones…
Wait, I have an idea (which would cost money and time no doubt).
How about some sort of keyword system that would review a post and then give it some sort of rating? Either a color (like a red dot, or a green dot). Or just a NUMBER of dots? 1,2,3,or 4 red dots. It would be triggered by certain words. Like vulgarity, or even off topic words, like BUSH or KERRY. I for one dislike it when a discussion about G5 computers turns into a political debate.
Also, maybe PEOPLE who do NOTHING but swear and scream FIRST POST would be rated as well.So it’s easier to skip.
Or BETTER YET.. all these vulgar and off-topic posts get pushed to the BOTTOM. You want to rant about Dubya? Fine. All you folks can meet at the bottom and yell at each other.
This way, no one is censored, MDN gets the clicks, and hopefully everybody buys their Tunes here.
I’m not a programmer, so this idea may be expensive and not very feasible. But, hey, it’s the best I can do after midnite.
Keep On!!

I don’t see how anyone can complain about the political threads when they tend to follow articles about Kerry, Bush, Rush Thingamebob or anything associated with France. If you don’t want to read them, don’t click on the article.
Next time I buy from iTunes, I will follow the MDN link. I think it’s the least I can do for them not deleting my constant off-topic drivel. Hopefully they’ll get rich enough to install an entire server farm so that the site doesn’t go so slow in the early afternoon (UK time).
it doesn’t cost u a thing to support the site if u buy music anyway. so its kinda babyish to make demands dont u think?
Nope. It’s not babyish. Why don’t you send Microsoft some money while you’re at it? Wouldn’t it be babyish of you to first demand a quality product and good user experience before you start paying them?
Next time I buy from iTunes, I will follow the MDN link. I think it’s the least I can do for them not deleting my constant off-topic drivel.
I rest my case.
Rageous: if I added iTunes affiliation to my site:

would you buy music from there?
