Apple posts iMac G5 Introduction Video online

Apple has posted their “iMac G5 Introduction Video” online. The video is 3 minutes and 43 seconds in length and comes in three sizes, Small (1.2MB), Medium (2.3MB), and Large (7.2MB) and takes considerable care to tie the new iMac design concept neatly to the company’s iPod.

QuickTime 6 is required. Links to watch the video here.

  1. nicely done video, they need to make commercials like this..could have done without the black eyed peas as well, but whatever.

closest thing to good advertising I have seen lately from apple

  2. I’m thinking the “large” version of this movie is closer to 54 MB than 7.2. At least that’s the file size when I saved it to my desktop. How odd.
Love the design. Hope they’ll actually ship it in quantity instead of a trickle.

  3. I don’t mind the Black Eyed Peas content. What did you want Apple to use for the iMac? Square dancing rednecks with country music? Heck if Apple wanted to stay with the times then maybe they should have used Outkast or Ludacris (as spotlighted by the Bush twins at the RNC)

  4. Good that they at least gave some time to iLife. Now they have to start spreading the work about OS X in general. Nuts and Bolts. Nuts and Bolts. Quick shots showing one point at a time. Let the Windozers think in their heads themselves how they would have to do the same thing. Emphasize up time and security also. A lot of former Mac Users also just don’t realize how much of a paradigm shift OS X is.

  5. Apple needs to improve now when it comes to music in ads, they have to stop using Norah Jones, Black Eyed Peas, cheryl crow etc. they suck big time.
There’s enough good music especially rap.
How about somo prodigy, dizzy rascal, the darkness, the go! team, fatboy slim, scissor sisters, i mean anyone but them.

  6. I would show more of the product and less of the song and dance. Sounds strange but I would try and get someone like Rush Limbaugh to endorse and talk about what a great computing solution is this new product from Apple.

  7. If Apple insists on using music for this type of thing, they ought to at least use music that appeals to people over the age of 16. More adults buy computers than children, so why must the default music always be the most vacuous, transient, and classeless? In terms of taste, I thought Mac people were supposed to be the ones that had it.

    Sincerely,

    Jack Ass

  8. I haven’t seen the new iMac video so I can’t really comment on it, but this week is a bad time to be releasing a major product upgrade. I know, I know, it coincides with the Expo and all that, but you really should try to make your big announcements during what you hope to be a slow news week so you can get more coverage. Apple has a hard enough time as it is getting any positive mainstream press. So why release your product during the same week that John Kerry is getting a new asshole ripped for him?

  9. Reggie, why don’t all you conservatives get the fuck out of our world!!!? Steve Jobs doesn’t care about your stupid Nazi convention, so FUCK OFF!!! Zieg Hiel you dumb cocksucker!!!

  10. Very inclusive, Mac Manager. Also very informative. Just get out of the NYC lockup, for punching a cop during your tree-hugger protest march? Kerry loses in Nov. and by much more than you can imagine.

  11. Judge bork, the cop probably had it coming to him. It’s called freedom of speech, and he’s not entitled to harrass people just because they don’t march lockstep with the Republican morons.
