Bush-Cheney ‘04 Re-election website adds QuickTime multimedia choice

According to the Bush-Cheney ’04 campaign, “Bush-Cheney ’04 released a new television ad that will begin running all over the nation. The new ad, ‘Weapons,’ highlights John Kerry’s troubling record of opposing weapons systems essential to fighting and winning the War on Terror.”

Previously, multimedia on the Bush-Cheney ’04 Re-election Campaign website was available only via Windows Media and RealPlayer. Now Bush-Cheney ’04 site offers a third choice, Apple’s QuickTime, in “High Speed” and “Low Speed” versions.

The John Kerry campaign website multimedia is offered with a choice between Windows Media or RealPlayer. The Ralph Nader campaign website offers video clips with a choice between Windows Media or QuickTime.

See the Bush-Cheney ’04 QuickTime additions here.

The addition of QuickTime to the Bush-Cheney ’04 website follows the addition of the free President Bush Mac OS X Screen Saver. It seems that, of the three major candidates for U.S. President, only President Bush recognizes the Macintosh platform at this time.

  1. Clear bias,

I asked if MDN was biased “other than biased in relating to Apple, Mac, iPod?” As for being Pro-Mac, Thank God for MDN! I love this site’s attitude and style and the posts to the aritcles! I even like the simple site layout.

  2. I think this report is wrong. I’ve been watching the ads with Quicktime since the first one came out, well over a month ago. However, the Quicktime option was not featured as prominently as it is now.

Kerry’s campaign, however, has not yet embraced Quicktime.

  3. Thanks for the link, Judge Bjork. Frankly, I’ve never visited the site, so I had no idea there was a “videos” section. I happened to see the “Carry On” video in QT format.

    Whatever.

  4. do you guys realize that bush and his advisor karl rove use macs?

that way when they’re downloadin’ pr0n, any viruses they download as well won’t fark up the white house network…

  5. Just for the record I’m a Republican and a Macintosh user since 1984.

As a matter of fact, I have 14 Macintoshes.

And I’m a photographer with shoulder length hair, with an iPod, who listens to THE WHITE STRIPES.

    Kooky, huh?

We all don’t look like Tucker Carlson or Dan Quayle.. altho I DO wear bow ties, occasionally.

  6. donnie,

There’s a big difference between putting a PowerBook in the background for photos (with no apps running, incidentally) and actually using the computer. You’re giving Dubya way too much credit if you actually think he has even a clue about how to use any computer. He sure can clear some brush, though!

  7. “But those sound just like complaints of Bush by Democrats too.”

Turkey: I know, and it pisses me off even more that Bush makes me sound like a Democrat. I have never voted for a Democrat in my life, but I’m so mad about some of this stuff that I feel like I have to. Kerry may be just as bad (or worse), but I can’t reward Bush considering some of this.

  8. There go libs like jfbill questioning people’s patriotism again (in this case, Bush)! Typical liberal hypocrisy…
I LOVE it though–helps turn people off to their ideas and get Bush re-elected!
    Go, jfbill!!

  9. Mac Citizen,

For your information, here’s what a “liberal” is according to Dictionary.com:

liberal … Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

Hmmm…. Doesn’t sound so bad. But no wonder Bush and his handlers (and dumbasses like Rush Limbaugh) think “liberal” is a dirty word!

  10. Open to new ideas for progress? Tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others? Broad-minded?

Ahhhhh!!!! That’s not what America is about. It’s about strict control over the population, Christian radicalism, and rampant war-profiteering. Don’t muddle our closed minds!

  11. a vote for bush only proves your stupidity at this point in time… that said, somehow they crashed Safari on me 3 times, and left this very stable Powerbook with a dead finder. unable to open any finder windows, or to shut down or reboot.

has anyone else had any problems opening the videos?

  12. i’ve had no problems loading vid from any of the sites..BTW, why does politics always inspire the worst in us? name-calling etc? WHOEVER we elect–let’s support them..if we don’t like them vote them out–but don’t everyone down with the lame negative vitriol–it’s not productive or healthy..

  13. Atomic Bomb sucks.

Atomic Bomb is “What is Liberal” poster.

Hey “What is Liberal”, since you’re going by the dictionary…
How do you use “gay” in a sentence?

  14. By the way, in the few months I have been coming to this site, I have seen more inane liberal postings than in almost any other site. There isn’t one single liberal poster that expressed a point of view that made sense yet. Either you’re all whiney/spoiled kids with no sense, or you are all whiney/spoiled kids with no sense. I don’t know, one or the other.
