good job bob. i like the dual as well. i was playing with one at the apple store and it is very fast. almost as fast as my spaceship
The only thing I’d disagree with is the Dual 1 GHZ not being a slouch. That’s a joke. It is a slouch when I have to process 4,000 files while doing everything else I do and that’s cos of the slow bus. I can’t wait to get a dual 2GHZ cos’ the faster bus will make a huge difference in how things are run.
Just got mine last night and let me tell you it is ridiculously fast. I then installed Panther 7B80 and it went from ridiculous to absolutely INSANE!!!!!
Dave you are a lucky dog… I am jealous. I am getting one to just get even!
I have mine, I just bumped it up to 2.5GB of RAM. I limped along on half a gig for a week and a half. Even then I was continuously astonished at the speed. Now that I have all that page faulting abated, it is lightning quick. These aren’t exaggerations. I seldom see my old friend, the spinning beachball.
I’m going to lug it around to a couple of client locations and let it tear into some After Effects renders.
Well done Apple.
Just wait a couple of weeks before you introduce the dual 3 gig so I can feel powerful for just a bit longer…
