Pseudo MacWorld NYC to be a snorefest

“The exhibit floor at Macworld CreativePro/New York won’t open to the public until Wednesday, but an observer said that Apple’s booth is already ‘wide open,'” reports Nick dePlume over at ThinkSecret.com. “The lack of security is an apparent confirmation that the Wednesday opening feature presentation from Apple’s Greg Joswiak, Vice President of Hardware Product Marketing, will be devoid of product announcements.” Full article here.

Yawn. The only real MacWorld now takes place once per year in San Francisco, CA.

  1. Geez. This isn’t news. Apple actually cancelled out until the show was scaled back over 6 months ago. Only then did they agree to a minimum presence. Where have you guys been?

  2. MacWorld 2004 in Boston is going to be the show stopper of all time. With or without Apple. Put a zillion Mac professionals from around the world under one roof and something cool is bound to happen.

  3. I was at the javits center today and while I don’t think the show was quite a “snorefest” it was a faint imitation of what it has been in years past. It took up about half the floor space as last year and alot of big vendors were either missing or had very small displays. Apple’s display was particularly poor. All they really had was a couple of rows of G5s running different software, very boring. I only stayed about 3 hrs got some pizza and went home.
