Apple betters iBook while dropping price

Apple today updated its iBook line of portables with faster PowerPC G3 processors running at up to 800 MHz and the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics chipset. The iBook line now starts at $999 (US). “iBook offers consumers and education customers cutting-edge technologies and a stunning design in a powerful and affordable package,” said Greg Joswiak, vice president of Hardware Product Marketing. “With faster processors, incredible graphics and incredible new prices, the iBook delivers value in a lightweight, fully-featured notebook unmatched in the industry.”
